Headwind vs Tailwind

No, ergs don't yet float, but some of us do, and here's where you get to discuss that other form of rowing.

Headwind vs Tailwind

Post by Scott Lewis » October 1st, 2017, 7:02 am

Hi guys,
I was wondering how much a headwind would take off of a 3K race compared to the previous year which had a tailwind. The wind wasn't too strong but was still substantial. Not sure how strong the tail was. I was rowing in a 4+ and am trying to compare with another 4+ last year.
Thanks

Depending on the wind direction, it can be 10% or more.

Look at the charts in this article. http://www.biorow.com/RBN_en_2009_files ... News12.pdf
