Calling all Ducks to row their 21000 m in honour of the summer solstice today. You can do it in sections, but you must complete your whole row by midnight tonight!
Log those metres, and let's see if we can bump the Ducks up a notch in the standings.
I got up at 4.30 and did a half marathon this morning. You can do it too!!

Here I am, announcing it in public so I have to follow through: I'm going to try the 21K row! I've never done more than 10K in one session, or actually even one day, so this is a big challenge for me.

I got up early-ish and did the first 7K before work... I _never_ work out in the morning, but I survived. 14K left for this evening. I can do this. I can do this. I can do this.

Good luck to everyone! Have fun, too.

Finished my HM at last - it was harder work than I had expected as I have not being doing much rowing recently. Hope everyone else who was taking up the Challenge has been successful.

Sorry Dawnald Duck for having not been in touch for so long - I really hope you get the last 14k. I'll be in touch soon.

Jenny

DONE! Finished around 20:30 last night. My finger blisters are pretty sore today, and my left hip flexor was screaming last night, but other than that I'm just fine. I guess I won't be afraid of a little 10K anymore!

Jenny, I'm really glad you got to do this yesterday - I hope you're well on the road to recovery.

Thanks for the encouragement and the challenge, everybody!

Dawn

It's Sunday, June 22.

I couldn't do the Solstice Row on Tuesday, even though I was all psyched for it. The DH had a day off and decided to work on some "projects." If you could ever see him in action, you'd understand why I can't let him do this kind of stuff unsupervised! Like, he wanted to shampoo the carpet without picking up stuff and vacuuming first, spraying for weeds without weedwhacking first so you don't end up using eight times the amount of pesticide than you really need, etc. Even with me dogging his heels, I still missed the fact that he left the stepladder out by the garage--someone could've stolen it, or worse, some kid could've climbed up on the roof.

Anyway, I got in 21,558 meters in three chunks. I'm standing up as I type this.

This duck has training wheels, but I'm still a duck!

--Jen
