Return to rowing after injury

Post by mtkin » November 16th, 2012, 2:25 pm

Hi all

Just got back on to the Concept 2 after a 12 month lay-off due to a torn cartilage. It is so good to be rowing again.
Taking it easy to start off with - 10 /15 minute sessions at an easy 24spm.
What a great feeling.
My 2million meters beckons.

Thanks for looking

Mike

Hi Mike - Glad to see things are working out for you. Did you do any one leg rowing while heaing? If so how was the transistion to two leg rowing?
I am about to have major leg surgery (see my Peripheral vascular disease (Now What?) UPDATE post for details). I am very intrested in your recovery process if you could provide any other details.

Thanks, Roger

Hi Roger
Thanks for looking, and, taking the time to post.
I never attempted one leg rowing - in fact I never thought about it.
My post op appointment with the surgeon was 6 weeks following surgery. Up to that point I did lots of walking to gain strength etc. He advised not to overdo things to start off with.
