Im looking at 2-3 UT2's and one 30r20 a week. It's all I can fit in as I have 2 strength sessions and 3 rugby sessions.
My UT2's are anywhere from 60-90mins in length, obviously starting out shorter and slowly reaching 90min. I'm doing them at 5:15am before school.
How much UT2 to actually get a benefit?

BTW as a current indicator of fitness, I am 5' 10" 176lbs, 16 years old, and a 3x5Kr18 3'r comes out at about 2:09 in 77F temp. My 2K is 6:42 and 30r20 is 7642m (6 months old)nswrower wrote:Im looking at 2-3 UT2's and one 30r20 a week. It's all I can fit in as I have 2 strength sessions and 3 rugby sessions.

It sounds to me like you'd be getting a lot of benefit from the program already. I think technically you get some minor benefit even if you do it once a week, although more is better up to a point. And since your existing training is probably more sport-specific, endurance work should be a good supplement. I'll defer to the seasoned hands for more precise info, though.

Looks like your doing well already. That's a very hard time to get up and into some serious rowing ! 30-40 minutes plus is a good start so your doing enough already.
