A few thoughts on the new C2 LogBook...

Post by Mat » March 17th, 2016, 3:39 am

Good Morning!

I like the design and features that came with the new online logbook. But there are a few things I would like to have changed or improved. What are you thinking about this?

1. A clear hint if you got new mails. After you signed in there should be a clear note on top of the first page or a message box saying: "You have a new message!" The little number when you open the drop down menu of your profile is not eye-catching enough.
2. A copy of a new mail should stay in your inbox. If you checked " Get a copy of any email sent to your Logbook mailbox forwarded to the email address associated with your account." then there will be no mail left in your inbox and all mails will be sent to your email address. Is this an error or didn't I understand this feature?
3. Logbook Access should be https secured. I mentioned it already elsewhere: A database with personal data (like birthdate, address) should be secured with a modern encryption. I hope the hard-working guys at Concept2 will have the time to include this in the near future.

Many Thanks to the ladies and gentlemen at Concept2 for the great work so far.

Mat

When a non-Governmental entity asks for my birthdate, all of a sudden I'm a New Year baby rather than a summer one. Problem solved except for appearing to be a year older for 8 months,
Age: 54 Weight: 91.5kg/202lbs Height: 174cm/5' 8.5" Fitness level: jog 5 miles daily and swim 30 minutes almost daily; I'd say fit but with a persistent beer gut.

Well, besides that anything you rank may be competing in the next age category if you are on the boundary.

If this is a thread to make suggestions...I miss being able to filter rankings by state and specific ages. It would also be nice to be able to see weekly summary without having to go through a couple of steps. And having more filtering would be neat, assuming people would provide the information, such as height, or weight, years of experience on the erg, or other semi meaningless metrics!

Still waiting for that validation column on the annual meters board.

I can live with the rest of the Logbook, average pace on the board would also be great but I would settle for just a yes/no validation on all the meters rowed just like the rankings.

I'm not holding my breath for it to happen.

It's probably better to write to ranking@concept2.com rather than ranting in this backwater of the forum.
