Failing to export to C2 log from Rowpro

Post by JonT » December 30th, 2015, 12:07 pm

I've been using the trial version of Rowpro for a while and have now activated the full system. I am now trying to export to the C2 log, something which was working fine with the trail version and despite triple checking the userid/password/ranking id I get an error message saying that the export failed. Each time I retry I get prompted again for the userid etc.

There is a rule in science that you should never alter more than one variable at a time, unfortunately in between activating my full account I also installed Windows 10 on to my laptop. So I don;t know whether it is the activation or Windows 10 that is the issue. Has anyone else seen this problem?

Jon

P.S. Does anyone ever get a reply from Digitalrowing when you email them? I am using the assist@digitalrowing.com email address and very rarely get any response :(

RowPro has been down all week. It's still not 100% repaired.

So that's the science blow right out of the water. I'm busy changing variables all over the place and the world is unstable anyway. I'll just sit on my hands and wait then......often the best way :D

I, too, have been having this problem when trying to upload from my RowPro to Concept2 logbook.

The RowPro technical support had this to say: "I believe the problem is that your Passw’d has some non-alphanumeric characters in it, and RowPro is not handling that."

He suggested changing my Concept2 logbook password so that it did not have any special characters in it. I did that, and RowPro is now able to upload to my Concept2 logbook.

Why this is not documented in the RowPro information is beyond me.

I'm having this problem, yesterday and today. So I thought it's time to upgrade, so I installed version 4.3, and I couldn't activate it. I emailed DigitalRowing about the 2nd problem, and they replied:
  • Hi Carl,
We’ve had a major server issue today and are working with our data center to resolve it.
We’re not sure how long it will take but it should all be working again tomorrow.
In the meantime, the website is very slow and some functions aren’t working properly or at all.
We apologize for the nuisance this is causing and ask you to bear with us until it’s working again.

Questions:
  • - Is the Oarbits Server at Digitalrowing.com? If yes, then if Digitalrowing has a "server issue", that could affect the ability to upload rows to Concept2.
    - Is there a quick way to check the status of the Digitalrowing server? An email exchange is a clumsy way to find out. Digitalrowing.com needs a "Latest News" page.

I found the answers to my questions.

https://www.facebook.com/RowPro/?fref=ts

And yes, when the Digital Rowing server is down, rows cannot be uploaded.

Its a bad crash, the worst one ever, even their Website is down.

For the first time ever in 6 years I couldn't even open RowPro and had to do the 30 minute yesterday using only my PM4 so had to manually enter the row into the C2 LogBook.

I notice the verification code option now pops up with the manual entry, prompting you for the code, this is a great improvement for the Concept 2 Website. The whole C2 website is finally moving in the right direction with regards to verified rows.

I just received this additional email from Digital Rowing:
  • We’ve just recovered from a major server issue that caused a number of problems like the one you experienced.

The problem is now fully resolved, so if you try again now it should now work correctly.

We’re implementing some preventive measures to ensure this does not happen again in future.

Please contact me again if you have any further issues.

Sorry for the nuisance this caused.
