selling used, but creaking model c in maine usa

Post by heicro » May 2nd, 2010, 10:26 am

I'm trying to sell a great used model c, but one seller about to buy decided that the seat creaking would not be acceptable for her. we have tried everything over the years to fix the seat creaking--to no avail. Is this a signficant problem? any idea about pricing with this slight problem. DO all model C's creak a bit?

Two things you can replace.

1. Seat rollers (all of them top and bottom)
2. The monorail track (just the aluminium strip not the whole monorail).

We've got one in the gym where it's had new rollers but still creaks like mad. The track has been so well worn that it's no longer flat, but has two tramlines where the old rollers have been running. That machine must be fifteen or more years old.

I posted this earlier but the message disappeared.

Move the seat bolt that is underneath the seat to the farthest back set of holes.
