As is so very clearly true of you as well! Ausrwr at least recognizes his shortcomings, unlike you.ranger wrote:So you are clearly not your father.ausrwr wrote: I don't think my father would ever, even obliquely, refer to anything he's done for us to people he didn't know.
At least having grown up around the nutty prof, he's undoubtedly gotten used to endless gusts of windPaulH wrote:I'm sorry to hear that ranger (not for you, as you deserve little sympathy, but for your son). I hope he won't be sleeping rough during the winter as well; a Minnesota winter is no fun in a draughty house, let alone under the trees a few steps from the boatclub.ranger wrote: Colin lives a few steps from the boatclub in Minneapolis, MN, on the Miississippi River.
Nope.ausrwr wrote:You have a LOT to learn.

Sorry, folks.slwiser wrote:Ranger must really get a kick out of getting everyone to respond to him. I hope those that do enjoy his responses you get 'cause you are just an enabler. Must be something like a co-dependency between Ranger and everyone else who respond to certain derangements.
This last year, no one my age and weight or older came within 20 seconds of my 2K.aharmer wrote:You've been saying you need to up your training to 4 hours forever. Why don't you just f*****g do it? For all of the other forumites, let's start taking guesses at which excuse he uses for not posting a 6:28 2k on September 1st. The problem is, he might well give the time trial a shot, but if he doesn't hit 6:28 he'll never post his real time. Does anybody live in Ann Arbor...AND be willing to go to his house to witness the September 1st attempt?
I'll start...whether he actually does a time trial or not, he will not post a time and it will be because his distance rowing isn't yet complete. When all is said and done he will not race this fall, and will claim that he has his whole life to prepare, and will post a 6:16 next year as a 60 yo.
I'll wait to see a few humorous excuse guesses then log back in on September 1st to see the results. See ya!
Those who dwell on their shortcomings will just be short coming.whp4 wrote:Ausrwr at least recognizes his shortcomings

Full quote please, dirtbag.ranger wrote:Nope.ausrwr wrote:You have a LOT to learn.
Not for what I want to do this fall and winter with my erging.
For that, I have "learned" all I need to learn.
Now I just need to ramp up my sessions to four hours (two hours of base pace rowing and two hours of cross-training on my bike) and my HR to the max (with distance trials and hard sharpening).
And, this fall and winter, I will lay down a whole brace of 55s and 60s lwt times on the erg that will never be equaled.

Perhaps we need a new term to describe what Ranger does. How about, "Egoing"Erging for you is a means of projecting your horrific personality.
