Team Swag Update: I think the shirts are ready to order, so you can use the URL posted above. I have a question in to CafePress about the mug, which I'm having trouble with. We'll see what they say.

Hey-what happened to me being posted on the goal chart? The one feeling I have left is getting hurt
And, in my opinion anyway, pain is just pain. And it's not leaving very quickly at all.

My bad! When you posted that you were on "injured reserve" I didn't want you to feel pressured by seeing your challenge stat languishing. I forget the original goal number. What would you like me to put in for you?

Well ... That was a short-lived stay in 8th place, despite a great Team effort. Team NAS Pensacola materialized out of nowhere and are in 8th place now. Where the heck did they come from?!!

So all this talk about the 81 year old who rowed like a billion meters in 24 hours has lodged into my brain. I. Must. Find. Out.

Goal for tomorrow: 10x5k just to see what that's all about. If it works out, then onto a 100k day sometime in the near future.

Hell, if an 81 year old can do it...

Good luck, man! Sharpen those canines, tear off a big hunk o' meat-ers, and chew like there's no tomorrow! :D

10 5ks would take me over 4 hours continuous rowing. Let us know how you do!!

** I note, however, that about a fifth of the NAS team's meters (1.1M) have been rowed by one woman, a Ms. Cecilia Walker. And she has over twice the meters as the next rower on the team, also a woman with over 500k. The ladies are rockin' Team NAS Pensacola! Inter-Team Woot!

Couple of updates to share:
1) I have a buddy that just landed a free Model C (jealous! ok it is he same model as mine but FREE) and I will be hooking him up with all the C2 online goodies including an introduction to the T2 team. I will be making sure he joins ;-)

2) Living in San Diego I war shorts a lot. I noticed that my weight loss plateaued awhile back but it has seemed that i kept losing inches. Today i put on a pair of jeans (first time in awhile) that were the closest thing to "skinny jeans" that I had and they are now baggy and frumpy looking. Nice!

3) Not to say that this is the cause of my week off from rowing but I have been going to a non-surgical orthopedist to work out the remaining kinks in my shoulder injury. Some of you may already know this but apparently muscle tissue when locked up will create scar tissue and over time can be a real issue. Think burning sensation in neck from sitting at desk on a computer all the time.

So he has been employing a technique called the Graston technique. Over several sessions he uses some metal tools, rubbing them into my muscle tissue, to break up the scar tissue and return to healthy full functioning muscle fibers, blood flow, nerves, etc. I am still at the front end of the process but I will post pictures this weekend of my shoulder. I do not bruise easily but this process of breaking up the scar tissue causes some serious bruising though it hasn't been as painful as it will look when you see pictures - more to come! This stuff I find fascinating. Apparently he says I should see a real increase in stamina and endurance as we work it out. Any of you ever heard of this or had this done?

pictures to come this weekend - new session this evening so the bruises will be nice and fresh!

4) T2 Tshirt ordered!
