Ranger's training thread
Re: Ranger's training thread
Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. What fails to make you better is haphazard erging to the symphony in your mind. Nobody has ever said you should go out and try to pull PB's every day. It's simple, though clearly not for you. You can't make claims to be able to obliterate existing world records, show zero proof of having said ability, then get upset at those saying you're full of shit. All anybody wants to see is a shred of proof that you can do anything remotely close to what you say.
"I am better now than 7 years ago when I pulled 6:30 with zero sharpening at high drag" is not definitive proof of being able to destroy world records today. Sorry. What's the point, this is all a game anyway. Along those lines, do you have the airline and flight information we were wondering about?

Re: Ranger's training thread
FWIW all of my performances are never done in a training session. Racing has a magic and motivation I can not call on in training.
Re: Ranger's training thread
No, we have a pervasive disbelief in your training as you report it, because you are a lying sack of post-processed cattle feed.ranger wrote:What is amazing about this so-called training forum is its pervasive disbelief in training.

People who talk like you and think like you should be avoided at all costs.

Are you going to race at BIRC?aharmer wrote:Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. What fails to make you better is haphazard erging to the symphony in your mind. I have already obliterated world records--repeatedly.
I am now much better than that.
I have worked for seven years to get better.
So now we'll see.
Not necessarily in full form at BIRC, but by WIRC, I think.
Sharpening is coming along fine.

Yes, if you don't want the cold, harsh light of reality intruding into your fairy tale, I agree that you should avoid reading my posts. A week from tomorrow you'll have shown that I was right once again.ranger wrote:Caveat lector.whp4 wrote:No, we have a pervasive disbelief in your training as you report it, because you are a lying sack of post-processed cattle feed.ranger wrote:What is amazing about this so-called training forum is its pervasive disbelief in training.

Obliterated? Hardly! And someone promptly returned the favor, leaving you unable to respond.ranger wrote:Proof?aharmer wrote:You can't make claims to be able to obliterate existing world records, show zero proof of having said ability, then get upset at those saying you're full of shit. You may have work [sic] for seven years to get better, but you have yet to demonstrate that you are in fact better. Each year you turn in a slower performance for your best. Each year you say your fitness is maximal, your stroke is perfected, and that you haven't sharpened (despite saying that you would do so, and had begun to do so), so they are valid comparisons. Old, slow, and getting more so.I am now much better than that.
I have work for seven years to get better.

Sure.whp4 wrote:You may have work [sic] for seven years to get better, but you have yet to demonstrate that you are in fact better.
So what?
True.
You don't do something until you do it.
But it is preparing for it that lets you do it.
Doing something takes a moment.
In this case, preparing for it has taken eight years.
Those who don't take time to prepare, but just perform, get worse and worse.
Not good.
The average decline between 50 and 60 is 17 seconds over 2K.

Re: Ranger's training thread
Where's that video of the 1:26 500? Where's that screenshot of the 20x1' that you are doing at the same rates and paces as Nav? Where is that screenshot of the 8x500 at 1:32? All promised, none delivered as usual. And you expect us to believe you're going to show a 6:24 2k on Thursday before you jump on the mythical plane ride across the pond? LOL!!!!

Training?
Racing?
Obviously not.
Being a spectator--like you?
Obviously, so.
If you are a spectator, if the training being reported is not yours, then you just have to wait until the races to see how things come out, and even then, your role can't be anything but appreciation, given your own level of achievement and lack of participation.
If not, well, things are not just complicated, but confounded.

If I haven't done the 500m yet, as you know I haven't, then it is hard to post the video.aharmer wrote:Where's that video of the 1:26 500?
When I do the trial, I'll post the video.
As I said, the way to prepare for the trial, I think, would be to do some 1' rows, 1:26 @ 42 spm, until those feel comfortable.
Then, just bite the bullet and row the last 15 strokes.
Happy to have you come along with me.
Can you do 1', 1:26 @ 42 spm?
Then do it again?
And again?
And again?

Re: Ranger's training thread
No sir I cannot. And neither can you. I'll gladly eat my words and congratulate you the second that video shows up in this thread.
My goodness, you're such a f*****g drama queen. Just sit on the damn erg, program 500m and pull your ass off for a minute and a half. You really need to prepare for weeks or months to do a 500m trial?

Here’s an idea.
Tell us what you’ve done - not what you’re gonna do.
Might save lots of hot air.
No?
