If it's the Tacx then you need to set it to 110% Scalefactor and 1.2 Calibration. That will then read at very accurate Wattage output. We measured it against a Powertap wheel last summer.

I think its a standard turbo he uses with a cheap bike computer, perhaps his speed is really Kilometres per hour!.
I find it hard to believe he can do that average speed, could you? :)
:
Steve, I average 28.1 mph for the 10 miles and 26.4 mph for the 25 mile TT's.

Not sure how the prof measures up to that.

Sorry.......who is the WR holder again?

Who is the World Champ?

And who didn't turn up to race
Yes, you had a WR row, too.

And your WR will soon be gone, too, I suspect by over 10 seconds, perhaps over 20 seconds.

Your challenge, like mine, is to beat your own WR/pb.

Can you?

I will make my first full attempt to best my pb this winter.

I think I'll do it pretty early on and pretty easily--and then bring my time down from there.

Everything is looking good so far.

If you think you're the best, you need to prove it.

Currently, you're not.

BTW, just tacked on a nice little 10K run with the wife and daughter.

Turkey Trot

Running feels nice when I am this light.

I should probably start running regularly, too, in addition to my biking and erging.

My daughter (age 22) is now an avid runner.

She can cover 10 miles pretty easily--and at a nice clip.

Rocket Roy--

The year you pulled 6:38 and set the 55s lwt WR, I pulled 6:29.7 at 31 spm, just on the basis of foundational rowing, not even traiining to race.

It will indeed be interesting to see what we can each do this winter, now that we are both at weight and training to race.

Good luck.

What i was referring to with regards to PaulG`s post was the evident narcasism that runs through your posts like Oprah through a free buffet. That and an ego the size of Mariah Carey`s arse. Now you are a superbly fit man for your age and your performances are testimony to that BUT because of the digs at other athletes and the sheer bombast of your posts is perhaps the only reason we keep tuning in. Arrogance is the one human trait we love to see get hammered.

It`s why i tune in twice a week even though a pretty lousy medical condition precludes me from any physical exercise nowadays. So please keep it coming Rich.Without your hubris my internet experience would just be full of naked ladies with terrible boob jobs

Fortunately, sports performances are affected by talent, skill, training, effort, dedication, intelligence, passion, will, and a host of other things, but not at all by "what we love to see."

Nasty social communities can do all kinds of damage in other arenas, but they don't have much bearing at all on performances in individual sports.

I suppose we can be grateful for that.

On that we agree. Whilst you can never ever denigrate the blood, sweat and tears that someone puts into training it does`nt stop us wanting to see the arrogant one`s get their arse`s kicked Floyd Mayweather jnr,David Campese et al.
Your little digs at Rocket Roy`s time in Boston last year are a prime example of what i meant. I would have assumed he would have gone quicker if he had been pushed. He just did what he had to do to win. That is the essence of sporting achievment.Winning.It`s been like that for 2000 years.

Do you intend to get outdoors and escape from your batcave!
What time did you clock, actual time I mean, not what it felt like.
Bet your quads are hammered tomorrow, if I have a week off running I feel it, even with cross training.

Steve, I average 28.1 mph for the 10 miles and 26.4 mph for the 25 mile TT's.

To average 25+ on cheap turbo with no watt fedback is easy, just dont have much resistance! 53X12 gear with a cadence of 80 is 28MPH, easy life like riding on air!!

Steve, I'm not sure if your comment was directed to my turbo training. But those speed's I quoted were done on the road and are in the record books of the clubs who ran the events. Both speed's done on the road in the fresh air----and timed

No, nothing is hammered.

Just a family trot.

Running is my (Cureton) family tradition.

Odd, I suppose, but my wife and I (and other track club members) used to run in the New Year, too.

Then go back to the house for a big communal breakfast and celebration.
