Are you getting a lot of toe flex with the Sabos at the catch? Could you post a picture? I was going to take a picture of the Adidas shoes yesterday when I did 6x500 but I just didn't see much flex, if any, when I was at the catch. I may just be babying my achilles, which has been giving me problems. It could also be that I have the Flexfoot set at 1 so that I don't bend a lot.

Larry, Sabos are constraining flexibility at the balls of my feet. In my case a good thing, I think, to discourage over-compression, but the smooth transfer of pressure from toes to heel is what I bought them for. After 23k, I'm satisfied that my decision will very probably increase my power/stroke if I stick with them and don't revert to erging in whatever ancient boat moc or sneaker I happen to be wearing.

I think I agree with the advantage of constraining flexibility at the balls of the feet. I'm no expert but this weightlifting shoe seems to be helping me. I'm just on week two of the Pete plan, so we'll see how it goes in the future.
