Day 25.
HM at 2:02.7 pace 20spm
Short rest 10minutes or so.
60Min at 1:59.8 pace at 20spm....just over 15Km.
Longest row I have ever done in a single day.
36 in the individual standings at the time of posting. Not sure how everyone finishes these Challanges and if they go nuts on the last day or two so getting some meters in the bank for a top 50 finish.

Carl, your HMs are getting faster, at lower SPM.. well done big fella.
Tonight, 10k at 2:05 followed by 5k at 2:10.
I made the mistake of taunting a good friend of mine earlier in the week, at the time I was 5k ahead of him.. now he's 20k up on me
I have a lot of work to do this weekend

Re: The Fall Challenge Diary - How did you go today ?
What day is it I forgot ?
HM at 2:05.9 at 16 spm and 144 HR
Thanks again for joining me Chad, thought I had lost you with 6Km or so to go, that seems to be the point it starts cutting into most people if you only used to rowing for 60min max...anyway you came back and finished right beside me so good stuff. Was playing round with my rating and pace quite a bit an noting the change in HR.
Distance rowing is interesting in that it requires everything including the ability to just sit in the one position for hours and not have it kill your ass and other problems you do not encounter in the 2K !
Just 4 days left to go !
Perhaps the biggest dissapointment is not dropping significant amounts of weight, may see myself slip below 100Kg but thats it. Chose the 70% MHR for the biggest weight loss but it's not working. Then again who cares ? I feel a 6:40 2K coming on very soon and my shirts don't fit me across the shoulders anymore !

My butt had had enough at that point.. Needed to get off and stretch/walk around a bit..Carl Watts wrote:Thanks again for joining me Chad, thought I had lost you with 6Km or so to go,

Re: The Fall Challenge Diary - How did you go today ?
Things are getting hazy.
HM at 2:01.3 pace at only 18 spm no HR belt but must have drifted into UT1.
Only another 3 rows to go which is great as despite todays result i'm knackered.
Time to do some speed work, not sure I'm a distance guy.

Re: The Fall Challenge Diary - How did you go today ?
Carl, you're a lunatic... I dont know how you do it.
I was so tired last night all I could manage was a 2k WU, then 12k at 2:20 pace.. .with a couple breaks to walk around and stretch my backside..

Re: The Fall Challenge Diary - How did you go today ?
To be fair I'm not working at the moment or this would not be possible. I'm getting all the sleep I need and just enough time for recovery by doing some walking and stretching as well.chgoss wrote:Carl, you're a lunatic... I dont know how you do it.

I wake up in the morning and feel like I have been hit by a bus, get up move arround walk up and down the stairs a few times and start to feel human again...just in time to get back on the Erg for the next HM.
Basically my whole life is revolving around this Challenge for a month.

Re: The Fall Challenge Diary - How did you go today ?
Day 29.
HM at 2:04.9 pace 17 spm UT2
30min at 2:14.9 at 14 spm.
Joined by Christine, Paul and Joseph for the rows, thanks guys.
Winding down to the finish line, a couple more HM's and a top up row should get me to a total of 635Km for the month.

Re: The Fall Challenge Diary - How did you go today ?
Cheers Bob.
Day 30.
HM at 2:04.3 pace 17spm and 147 HR average.
Really mixed it up with the first 10K done at 2:05 15-16spm but this really hurt the legs for later on. Upped the rating to 18-19 for most of the rest and then had a sprint finish with Chad and saw 1:38 - 1:40 at 23spm for a while until I quit being stupid as this has to be done again tommorow.
One more day to go. Very sore and will be glad when it's over.

Re: The Fall Challenge Diary - How did you go today ?
Well that's it last day.
WU of 4085m at 2:10.8 17spm to round off the final total to a nice number.
HM at 2:04.3 at 19spm.
Total meters for the Fall Challenge 635,000 and should be a top 50 finish in the individual results.
Will utilise this UT2 training and now move on to some interval training to improve my 2K PB.
Special Thanks to everyone who rowed with me online with RowPro and helped me to meet my goal. It's a long hard slog without others to row with.
Cheers.
