Nice one - 30 sec is a very nice reduction

As the comp lasts a month I'm trying to beat the previous time every time I do one. So I must admit to being a little sneaky by slowing down toward the end so I only beat the time by about 10 seconds or so. My 10K pace is only 2 seconds outside my 6K now. In a couple of weeks it will be faster then my 6K as I'm only doing 10K's this month. Plus my usual 5 minute snatches during the day

Anyway enough chatter - well done

Brendin

Good effort. The 10K obviously suits you. Same again, 30secs off next time?

Second try at 10k CTC.

Was 42.14.3 , today 41.03.6. :P SB by 47 secs, still 65 secs above PB.

Thanks to Daren's placing rules #1 in TAFF I.

Back to you, Brendin & Paul. It's great to have a target to aim at.

Lets not forget I am still injured and in Rehab :)
Of course I will submit a time as soon as you have done yours. Are you still a lightweight :?:

If I recall it was you drinking the beers last week.

Phil

Great times on the CTC Taffs. Lookin' good so far.

34:46 on my first attempt. Had to stop around 7k due to a fly going in my throat. Added about 30 sec onto my time. So I know I can do better. Hoping to get around the 33 1/2 mark.

Row hard, row well.

Wow Godfried I wish I'd chosen someone easier as a target - you just knocked about a minute and a half off your time - and dumped me unceremoniously into boat 3 on my own

Best have another go today but your time I think is beyond my abilities. I'm going for Michelle Houghton - 10 seconds in front of me

Small steps

Did my first shot today. The hamstring I pulled the other night in my sleep still felt a bit odd but ok, so I didn't do a warm up (normally for a hard 10K I would do about 3500m warmup.)

40:38.2 av 2:01.9 24 spm ON SLIDES in case the slide police are on duty

It's 0.1/500 slower than my PB of last year. My goal is to go sub 40--39:59.9 will make me very happy!!

It's great to see everyone setting goals and going for it!! rah rah Taffs!

At least it wasn't a "Fly and Die!" That would have been it for me, after gagging on some livestock I'm sure I would have bagged it for the session. Hey, did you get my PM?

Come on, Krysta, dump me!!!! I think you can do it.

Did you see Jo Lyon's time? Amazing, she finished in 39:27 (1:58.3) what almost killed me for 6K.

Yeah, Jo's 10k time was awesome and inspiring! I hear it is a UK 19-29 HWT Women's record by 58 secs too!

I definitely won't be dumping you from the first boat, Carla, though I do hope to get sub 41 before month's end.

I am wiped out but smiling

3rd attempt 3rd PB 41:54.8

Average was 2:05.7 but was rowing at 2:15.x for the last few hundred metres

but this was very hard, also quite early in the day for me, I do my best efforts in the evening

It's great to see Carla and Krysta pushing each other

And Welcome to Boat III MrsT

I don't know about you guys but I'm finding this a great motivator, almost as good as the January virtual challenge

A lot of small steps can take you there. By then I won't be there. :P

You overtook Michelle. I see a lot of targets for you now: Paul (19 secs), Krysta (8 more), Carole (6 more).

Just one step at a time may be the best way to go - try to do it even pace.

I just updated my Nonathlon. Guess who is just above me. :!: Time to update yours too.

I have been off 6 weeks too, and am not disappointed with my performance at this moment. :)
