OOPS! I sometimes forget not all ergers are rowers. I'll go back to the basics just in case anyone isn't sure. The bow is the front of the boat and the direction the racing shell is moving in. The stern is the back of the boat. We sit backwards in the boat, so we all face the stern. I am the second person you can see from the left which is the bow, so yes, I have bare arms. If you look closely, there is a head popping up in the bow of the boat. You can see her hat above the my blade That is our coxswain. She steers the boat, calls commands, and motivates us to pull our hardest. So, technically I'm really the third person from bow, but the second rower. You start counting seats from the bow, so I rowed 2 seat in this race.
