ahhhh what will it be? dns dnf, dn weigh in or 7 plus

The first real "result" at last, last year you did a 7.30 as a starter, although you would erg "a string of WR" ending on 6.16 :P

I now have a _very_ natural, relaxed racing stroke, 1:34 @ 36 spm (11.7 SPI, 8.87 MPS).

This is pretty much the same stroke as Eskild E. and Henrik S.

"Danish Lightweight Racing Stroke."

Just doing as much as I can with it, every day, laying down the grooves.

Six weeks of sharpening left in the winter racing season.

I need to get to 8 x 500m (3:30 rest) with iit over the next 10 days.

That will predict 6:28 for Indianapolis.

Then I need to get to 20 x 500m (paddle a 500m in between) with it by WIRC.

No need to taper for Indianapolis and Cincinnati.

I'll just train right through these satellite events leading up to WIRC.

So how are the timed [and reported] distance trials going?

I am still forcing my HR up.

Stroke feels great, especially on longer, background rows.

During an hour session, as I warm up, I naturally arrive at 1:40 @ 30 spm in my distance rowing.

Why?

Pulling along at 10 MPS, that's 11.7 SPI, my 2K stroking power.

When you are trained up for it, it looks as though top end UT1 (pushing into AT) is 10 MPS at your 2K stroking power.

I suspect that Eskild does his 18K hour rows, 1:40 @ 30 spm.

If you are a 60s lwt but are still pulling 11.7 SPI, just naturally, everything that you do in sharpening at high rates is golden.

30 spm is WR 2K pace.

By the end of the winter racing season, I will be pushing the rate in my sharpening to 40 spm.

Most 60s lwts pull about 9 SPI.

And what 'distance' are you proposing to row at 1:40? 1K perhaps.

BTW you are anticipating a 6:28 2K in a week's time. Why don't you knock out a 30R20 at 1:49 as a taster.

This is the second time I have told you now: The indoor regatta at Indianapolis is Jan 30, not 31.
Are you planning on intentionally using the wrong date so you will have an excuse for not going?

Nice one, in line with boozing with his son, frozen feet, to much snow out of a clear sky, stroke ready etc

No, but I am intentionally ignoring you and anything you say.

By and large, your contributions here are worthless to me.

So I don't read them.

Same thing with Henry.

You both should just attend to your own business, which is messy enough, I would say.

My business is coming along just fine.

1:34 @ 36 spm is perfect as a sharpening cadence.

I'm delighted.

Sure, why not?

1K, 1:40 @ 30 spm (10 MPS, 11.7 SPI) at the end to a 60-90min row, starting at 1:52 @ 22 spm (11.3 SPI) and building up the rate until I hit 10MPS. 1:40 @ 30 spm, if done day after day, for warm ups, before my interval work, 1:34 @ 36 spm, is great training for a 60s lightweight.

Don't you think?

No 60s lwt has ever rowed 1:52 for 60min.

No 60s lwt has ever done 8 x 500m, I would presume, much better than 1:38.

Most 60s lightweights pull 9 SPI.

I am no longer doing foundational training at low rates, and won't have to ever again.

No need.

I now row well.

Each day, I am just doing distance rowing 22-30 spm to warm up, then as much sharpening. at 36 spm as I can muster, then a couple hours of cross-training.

Nice routine.

I do all the rowing at my 2K stroking power, 11-12 SPI.
