Current CTC for May lists 59:59.9 last position. I suspect this is one of the lads proving he can flatline the force curve for insane periods as did Goodall (MAD) a couple mo. prior. Doug did not attempt to remove this result. Makes me curious when (and to whom) the 45’ limit is applied?lindsayh wrote: ↑May 28th, 2019, 8:18 amIt will depend a bit on how much you like intervals I reckon and also what they exactly decide to do as there is some "dispute" as to whether the total CTC time limit of 45' is exceeded for some paticipants. I think a bit faster than that - my best ever 20x 1'/1'R (about 5 years ago) was @1:38.5 which was 2k-3/4 I guess and recently (May 7) I did 20x 45"/75"R @1:42.9 which is 2k-2. My best guess is 2k-3+ maybe closer for some but I wouldn't like to argue with Henry about it!MartinSH4321 wrote: ↑May 28th, 2019, 7:16 amSounds good. Any advices about pace? I expect a good bit faster than 2k (about 2 seconds)?!?

I usually do those sorts of clean-ups when I'm switching the challenge over for a new month - it's a ludicrous result that will be purged if the owner doesn't replace it with something more sane.jackarabit wrote: ↑May 28th, 2019, 2:06 pmCurrent CTC for May lists 59:59.9 last position. Re: Forum Flyers
There's no specific rules there for "distance intervals". So we can't change Team Oarsome's challenge without re-writing those guidelines. The rules at viewtopic.php?f=6&t=161998 are less specific.

Timed is obviously easier on both participants and lawgivers.

good training session for the 2k next week I think
mine were @1:40.9
Terry @1:51.1
…..not bad for 2 old fellas.
(T beats me on watts/kg!)

Hi Lindsay, which state champs are you going to? There is good lady rower from the Diamonds who is racing at the Sunshine Coast on 9th. She is new to rowing and is quite nervous! Is this the one or is it NSW on 15th?

Hi Georgie - I will be at the Sunshine Coast/QIRC next Sunday 9th and also the NSW rowing series event 4 in Sydney the following Saturday 15th.
Make sure she says hi - happy to talk her through it but it is welcoming group of all standards so no pressure. The Queensland event is a lot of fun and usually well attended. The NSW IRC is in September in Sydney as well.

Thank you Lindsay. I've told her that you'll be there. Her name is Pete Robinson, aged 61. She has been rowing for just 9 months, and already holds the 100m WR. She is hoping to get the Australian record for the 2k. Her best this season is 8:08.3, but she did 8:05.1 in April.lindsayh wrote: ↑June 2nd, 2019, 6:30 amHi Georgie - I will be at the Sunshine Coast/QIRC next Sunday 9th and also the NSW rowing series event 4 in Sydney the following Saturday 15th.

Good luck to you and Terry in both races.

Well that the first one floating, Carol doesn't really enjoy these sprints, but i made her do it!!!
Back in June for a bit more rowing, my training needs a bit of focus.
Need a few more flyers or need to nudge the old flyers. We post here and I tend to post on Facebook, is there anywhere else we should be putting our name??

Re: Forum Flyers
June CTC: 21x300m/r1
Targeted flat 2:10 pace and did better than anticipated. Kept the rate steady and sustainable but the necessity of short naps shows as undulations in power/pace. And not for the first time nor prolly the last, I blocked on seeing the big black ‘20’ on the monitor in the extra, unnecessary rest interval and banged out an additional iteration in classic “lastest fastest” mode. Not certain if result is admissible under Challenge rules so may need a do over?

Re: Forum Flyers
jack I am sure it is fine to just take the first 20 - nice steady work
I am not aware of other ways of reaching out I am afraid
Maybe set a race to add some focus to the training?
Nice work Carol - she is pretty strong I reckon - Lizh maybe in the mood - long one for hermeercats wrote
