By the way, if you are looking for a top ten percent of the participants standing during the Challenge, right now you have to have put in greater than 48,000 m....brutal for sure!

Just to let you know, Sinead is my daughter. She is 15 and a sophomore in high school. She's rowed a little bit with me and participated in a community rowing program at Yale this past summer, but doesn't really erg. Her best friend rows in high school and signed on to do an indoor regatta. (Not the Crash-Bs, but the same idea.) After I erged the other day Sinead told me she wanted to do a 2k piece, so I left the erg out and coached her through it. After about 500 meters she was regretting her decision. (She had already gone for a 2 mile run that day.) But...I coaxed her to keep going and she did. I was proud of her and think she held her own for a first 2k piece ever. Hopefully she'll put in a few more meters this January to help the team out. Happy Erging!
