Ok, folks...

Polar's HR transmission is about 5khz magnetic pulse. More than one pulse is used for their coded transmission. Very limited range and very directional (off to the side, where a watch would be worn!). Not enough range to put the receiver in the PM and in the wrong direction. Under the rail is about as close as you can get, unless you want to put it a few feet above the ground and off to your right or left side (not a great place while rowing).

The PM3 is USB 1.1 "Endpoint". There is not much data to move, there is no reason for the extra expense of USB 2.0. Endpoint means it cannot connect with anything other than a host, such as a PC.

If there is a wireless USB extender, it might work, just try it. But it'll need a power supply on the PM3 side: batteries or whatever. The PM3 can GET power from USB, but not supply it.

Concept2 has no Bluetooth plans.

Of course, I have to state the usual: "We're always working on something"....

Something like this *might* work as a USB cable replacement. Adapter needed for PM3 end.

http://www.aircable.net/cr-usb-serial-male.html
You're referring to RS-232 serial on the PC side. Hmmmmm yep, that's not the right one. I was looking at the other side.

I know there is a way to replace a USB cable w/ Bluetooth - I just need to keep looking. 8-)
