No, ergs don't yet float, but some of us do, and here's where you get to discuss that other form of rowing.

So you have a timber Staempfli. Nice scull Byron. I saw one with a carbon fibre wing riggger on display at the Aussie Masters Championships this year. I would have loved to have a demo row in it to see how it runs through the water.

Too bad about your river freezing over. It must get quite depressing for you to have nothing but a boring C2 erg to get your rowing fix from. At least you've got some slides.

The days are long and warm over here now (you probably don't want to hear that). I still enjoy those early morning rows. You can measure how good the rowing water will be by the number of hot air balloons in the sky above us. There were seven this morning which translates to excellent rowing water.
PBs: 2K 6:13.4, 5K 16:32, 6K 19:55, 10K 33:49, 30min 8849m, 60min 17,309m
Caution: Static C2 ergs can ruin your technique and timing for rowing in a boat.
The best thing I ever did to improve my rowing was to sell my C2 and get a Rowperfect.
