Well Chad, you did not state that you had copied the article thereby letting everyone assume that you had written it yourself.
Quite appropriate that you want to weed cheats out. Hopefully you will do the decent thing and leave this forum.

Well, Chad did not call anyone out in his initial post in this thread. He 'Cut and Pasted' an interesting piece. It would have been better if he had attributed it correctly, but sadly on the net, to few actually think to do that. Here on the forum, when we quote, the software takes care of the attribution for us.
Anyway, Chad began this thread the way most of us wished he had started that infamous one we all refer to, yet we seem to find things to vilify him anyway. I will give him the benefit of the doubt on this and would hope others could put the past behind them and start over. Lets talk about the piece that started this thread and try to make the system better.
There are a lot of posts here and no ideas.

I can’t believe what some of you are saying here!!.
Chad makes a sensible post about a serious topic, and then some of you jump on him calling him a cheat etc. He never once claimed those words were his so what is your problem? What difference does it make anyway? It is some of you that are guilty of something, that being provocation.
Did Chad mention Dwayne? NO! It is other people in this post and other topics that are linking any post with regards to cheating with Dwayne.
To answer your question Chad, I agree, a governing Body needs to be set up, this will have to be done if the sport is to be moved on.
I also agree with drug testing and events.

Someone who hadn't seen the previous debate on this topic reading this thread might well think those words were Chad's - indeed, why wouldn't they, unless they recognized the quotation? He didn't give any indication whatsoever that he was quoting another. He perhaps didn't intend to deceive, but he ought to go back and edit the post to make it clear that he is quoting someone else. He certainly expects others to do much more than that for his benefit!Sir P wrote:Chad makes a sensible post about a serious topic, and then some of you jump on him calling him a cheat etc. He never once claimed those words were his so what is your problem? So now you are calling him a liar as well as others calling him a cheat?johnnybike wrote:Perhaps if "Chad" had the honesty to use his real name that might help.
There is nothing wrong with his first post, he does not need to edit it, he was not claiming it as his own words in the first place, it is just you lot looking to start trouble again.

Did I say the word liar?
I made a simple statement. If Chad Williams is his correct name then I apologise most profusely and I really do mean that.
However if he is another poster on the UK forum, who has generated a new alias with the intention of having a go at DA in a variety of methods then my comment stands.

What a bunch of nonsense! In your eyes, it's only plagiarism if he actually claims "I wrote this" up top? Not the usual understanding of the term! It would do his argument no disservice to properly acknowledge the authorship of those words, and would demonstrate a bit of class. I know, I know, that'd be out of place here!Sir P wrote:So now you are calling him a liar as well as others calling him a cheat?johnnybike wrote:Perhaps if "Chad" had the honesty to use his real name that might help.

enough already
As the patient and loving partner of one of your fellow members,
I get to hear about the latest and sophomoric details of the banter
that goes on here.
Enough already.
1) Cheating is pervasive.
In some arenas, it is damaging and dangerous. This
forum doesn't have that importance and neither does
your rowing machine.
2) Chad believes Dwayne is a cheater.
So what! Chad just do your best and don't worry about
the other guy.
3) Chad committed plagiarism, he is a cheater.
It was obvious that the last line of the infamous post
was not written by the same author. Chad is a cheater
because he did not credit the author. Plagiarism is a
a sure way to lose credibility.
4) It's about how you play the game.
Being idiotic doesn't make you row better and it doesn't
make you a better person. Read a book, take a class,
volunteer.
Everyone do something today that will benefit another person.

Hey Dwayne, why don't you be a good boy and remove your fake times and fake meters from the rankings.

Chad Williams cheated, that's priceless!!
The only answer is to have C2 have a separate ranking including only race results. When that happens, the credibility of the training times gets vastly diminished, thus discouraging "cheating" (if, in fact, anyone has actually cheated)
It will also serve to encourage more races to be organized..
