I don't think my daughters would want to row for a fat, bald guy in a skirt beating a drum in the bow of the boat ("not that there's anything <i>wrong</i> with that"). They have enough trouble dealing with little Napoleonettes with cox-boxes. The ramming concept might have some appeal, though.

Porkchop<br /><br />Perhaps my memory fails me, but I thought that in addition to the fashionably attired drummer there were guys w/ whips encouraging the lads. Equip a cox w/ a cap-o-nine-tails, and then let's see how folks pull. <br /><br />Tom

Nice idea, though. <br /><br />Now, if we could only bring back galley racing . . .
