Blue Moon Challenge

Still not working, even though I've logged a 13k (on water), 6k and a 10k piece today. Cookies and scripts turned on. Tried using Outlook, Firefox and Opera. Nothing in my challenges page but the usual Blue Moon notification, and nothing to indicate that I've actually completed the challenge. Oh well.

Looks like a bug in the code. Both rows need to be 5k. My son did 5k and 6k but didn't get the Challenge download info till we changed the 6k to 5k.

If you are not interested in the certificate, go to online shopping, log in, then search on Blue Moon. I ordered all three, cause I think I'm special.

Good job on the bug hunt. I had set my PM3 to 5000 meters for 2 sessions, so that's how I entered it. I did a bit more, but it was on 'Just Row' so that time went in separately. Congratulations to ehagberg for trying so many browsers! grams

Of Course!! Its a semantics thing in the directions! It says 'row 2 separate 5000 meter sessions or more' It should say 'row 2 or more separate 5000 meter sessions' Its still a bug though....

The Challenges page itself says "Each row must be at least 5,000 meters in length." The instructions are wrong if we're supposed to do just 5k sessions.

I didn't know about the 'bug' at the time) and although I can access the 'download your certificate' bit okay there is absolutely no indication anywhere as to how/where I can order the (obviously desirable

teeshirt etc. You were kind enough to post info recommending that one logs into the online shopping facility and grabs the necessary via that, but I can't find anything like you mention on c2.com's home page other than the usual 'clothing' link, wherein no Blue Moon apparel is listed. I wondered if it might have been a Mac issue but I've now tried every possible route on a PC too, to no avail Does anyone know if this might all be a 'not available to UK users' thing? Any advice/extra info will be very gratefully received, cheers

I think you're right Fran - I can download the certificate but don't get a link to the t-shirt. I'd like to say I've been there, done it and got the t-shirt but looks like it's a US offer only.

Hmmm... I think your responses (much appreciated, BTW) indicate pretty unequivocally that the prizes are, indeed, a US offer only. What an awful, lousy shame... I'd so looked forward to availing meself of some Blue Moon Challenge garb but it seems that the jolly, motivational stuff doesn't apply to 'us' yet again I wonder... does the fact that we UK ergers throw ourselves into these challenges *despite* the fact we have nothing to look forward to other than simply the row itself and the time in which we achieve it make us harder than our 'across the pond' neighbours?

Oh Fran, You Brits have much better gear on your site (not to mention special t-shirt deals) than we do. I actually ordered my fleece jacket and BIRC sweatshirt etc and had them delivered to my sister-in-law's house in Oxford when we last went across the pond, and then persoanlly brought them back with me on the plane. Perhaps we should each establish a 'twin' on the other continent and agree to forward small items to each other. It's pretty pricy for me to mail things to the family in the UK, and I expect that it is the same for you. It does seem a shame to pay the shipping twice. If its any consolation, everyone in the world can put their best times in the US Concept2 Logbook and qualify for the 'All-Time Records' but only Brits can contribute to the Brit site. So, maybe you can't get the merchandise awards easily, but you can get recognition for being the best twice. grams

Far too slow and plodding, I'm afraid What a winning notion, the 'forwarding twin', though. That could work really well! Although, as was mooted in a previous post, why with online credit card processing we can't all simply order whatever we need from either site is anyones' guess

Americans can make the British record books, but they have to be living in Great Britain at the time. Many of the natives were quite unhappy about having an alien show up in the records. To order from the Concept US web site, you must first change your nationality to "US" in your profile. This may hurt your pride a bit, and get you tarred and feathered by your peers, but you can order US goods at US prices. The only hitch is that you need to send the goods to a US mailing address.
