Thanks for the reminder! I'll endeavor to row a distance which includes 7/22 ... maybe 7227 ... in honor of K2's birthday. (Or, even better, sip her favorite adult beverage, a Cosmo.)
Even though Leo runs from Jul-23 to Aug-22, I'm of the opinion that she has more lion traits than crab!

Happy B-Day K2. 27 I take exception to K2 being more Leo than Crab since I'm a Crabber; 7/11. So how do you like them apples?

Welcome back to the 2014 Rowing Season to Mary O!
But what about the cats?! EVERY day is a dog day....
It's almost here....first biggie challenge of the 2014 Rowing Season....just to get us into the habit of rowing more meters more frequently...so that we are ready to row the Fall Team Challenge...wait! Summmr is just barely at its midpoint!!!
Dog Days of Summer
The Dog Days of Summer runs from August 1–28 and features a different total distance goal each week.
The Details: Row or ski, indoors or outdoors, completing each of the following four distance goals during the timeframes indicated and log them in your online logbook:
Week 1, Aug. 1–7: 10,000 meters
Week 2, Aug. 8–14: 20,000 meters
Week 3, Aug. 15–21: 30,000 meters
Week 4, Aug. 22–28: 40,000 meters
The distance goals do not have to be done in one sitting, but must be done during the timeframe indicated. By the end of the challenge, you will have accumulated 100,000 meters.
For kids (aged 16 and under) and adaptive athletes, the weekly meter totals are as follows, for a total accumulation of 50,000 meters:
Week 1, Aug. 1–7: 5000 meters
Week 2, Aug. 8–14: 10,000 meters
Week 3, Aug. 15–21: 15,000 meters
Week 4, Aug. 22–28: 20,000 meters
This is an individual challenge. (You do not need to belong to a team to participate.) But we encourage it!
Meters must be entered online.
Indoor rower, on water, SkiErg, and on snow meters count.
Season meters as of 82/365 = 17,720,215 m

I hope that you crabby boys both had marvelous July birthdays. Happy belated greetings and good health. Crabs are delicious, especially with melted butter and lemon. I ate my way through Maryland, one trip, trying to find The Best crab cakes. Nom.
