On how to _train_ for a FM?

Heck no.

But it will get me used to racing FMs again, so it will give me feedback about race strategy (negative-spliting, fly and die, steady pace, surges, etc.).

Remind me: _Why_ am I doing a video?

I seem to have lost track of the point.

I am now rowing all of my meters at 108 df.

My first race will be a FM, 1:48 @ 25 spm (11 SPI, 108 df.), HR 155 bpm (75% HRR).

I think that 3800 strokes should be enough to demonstrate that I am now rowing well at low drag, even if PaulH thinks that I am not, or that it is impossible, or whatever.

Rich - what a crock!

For the longest time you have told us that it is just a matter of pulling 1:48's at UT2 with an HR stable at 155 with no need for fuel or fluids.

Now you say that you need a strategy.

Either you pull steady 1:48's and watch your HR rise until you have to slow or stop or you pull a steady HR and will need to lower your split to maintain a steady HR as you progress.

So, what do you mean by "strategy" because you are a marathon machine.

Well you had better get a move on. You previously stated that you will row a < 6:30 2K by the end of April.

BTW, you might want to try a 5K @ 1:48/25 spm before you start predicting what your HR is going to do during an FM at the same pace. You will find that reality looks a little different when not viewed through the bottom of a glass.

Discouraging someone, purposefully, and with no justification, is not very nice?

For rowing 42K?

Sure.

I have been rowing 20K in my sessions.

1:48 is the 50s hwt WR.

So you'd disagree that several years of your constant lying and failure to deliver a single promised piece of data (not even one!) demonstrating your ability to 'row well' is not justification for our sceptisism?

I understand entirely.

But you'll never do anything well if you don't care about it.

ranger
Depends on your definition of 'well'.

If 7:02 2k is your definition, which is what you are capable of based on your most recent performance, is rowing well, then no, I don't want to do it.

ranger,

We are not going to get the video you said you were going to provide, are we? Yet again another lie.

I don't think you row well any more.

You do lie well, though.

We're not saying that you shouldn't try it, just that you won't and you can't.
Rich Cureton. 7:02 at BIRC. But "much better than that now". Yeah, right.
