LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
Virtual Team Challenge: Thru Day 5
24 or 25 days remaining!
Every single meter counts !!
Day 6 (or 7 if you're in the Southern Hemisphere) finds us celebrating the fact that both Luna-Tics and Overcoming Disabilities Challenge teams are in the Top Ten grouping at this moment in time! THANK YOU to all our Challenge team members for rowing with us! Challenge teams can be created and add team members for 8 or 9 more days, so the rankings are still in a state of high volatility. And, hooboy, that means Opportunity Abounds! This is no time to hunker down and be protective of rankings ....it's a great time to row some more meters and grab the next rung on the ranking ladder!
More deep space mysteries! Can the teams maintain the blistering pace that they've held since the race gates opened...or will there be some slippage? Can sheer willpower make a big difference?!
Meanwhile, the average meters per teammate for Overcoming Disabilities is almost at 100K per team member. Wowzer, mates! I'm going to have to do some catching up to get to your average! Relentless I tell you....they are relentless (of course Jay has already noted this about dad Jim). Good stuff is happening! Keep those meters coming!

Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.
The sheer difference in numbers we may not be able to beat the Free Spirits team this time around (I'm still very proud of the Fall Challenge result), but I'm still going to put in as many meters as I can. After all, can't win if we don't try.
The NY-HM gave us a nice boosted head start, but it's difficult to maintain as there's not that many HMs coming in on a daily basis. I think that's skewing the numbers just a little (at least the first few days). Once we have the first week behind us I think we'll have a more accurate target in sight.
I do wish there was a nice list available of teams/meters and members/meters for the challenge like there was for the Fall challenge. I looked at that one several times per day but haven't found one for the January challenge yet .
In the meantime, while I don't want to spam the board congratulating everyone on their milestones, I see them posted and go "wow" to myself. Way to row!

It's so easy for me to get side-tracked by the Virtual Team Challenge results...it's like watching that part of the Matrix movie where all the numbers and codes cascade down the screen! Congratulations to Overcoming Disabilities Challenge team members...you've just entered the SIX digit arena of the team averages as your meter averages zoom past the 100K mark.
And never never never doubt that we can win! Our objective is to make those teams with more teammates truly WORK to earn their rankings by pushing our team meter averages up ! They'll know they've been in a challenge! As Wim notes, we have been able to overpower those teams with more team members before. The Ancients came in second in this challenge last year....with 50 teammates. Whoa. Btw, not sure which listings you're looking for Wim. While there is not an honor board, the standings can be seen at
http://log.concept2.com/team/teamStandi ... group=team
and you can click on the team name to see the individual contributions. Equally, by hitting view individuals instead of teams, you can see the list of individual contributors starting with those with the most meters. If you're looking for a different kind of list, perhaps you can describe it a bit more?
Thanks to Ryan Ford creations...
Another sidetrack....just realized it's a leap year....perhaps we'll consider a Luna-Tic Challenge of something with multiples of 290, 2900, 29000....distracted again....

Season meters as of 252/366 = 122,093,764 m

Re: All In A Day's ERG: Team Progress Thru 1.5.12
That's exactly the list I was looking for. I just can never seem to find it through the C2 website. By the time the challenge ends I'm sure I'll have figured out where I was supposed to look for the link And then for the next challenge I'll be nicely confused again.Kona2 wrote:Btw, not sure which listings you're looking for Wim. Sort of like last night when I was asked to join an online 5x5 row (and a 2k warm-up). It took until I was in the middle of the warm-up to realize that 5x5 meant 5x 5 minutes. I was thinking 5x 500m, which I wasn't interested in, or 5x 5k, which I didn't have time for. Oops...
Thank you for the link, K2.
Edit: I was hoping to go for a top 10% again like in the Fall Challenge. No such luck. Currently, top 10% is 63,910m. At position 503 (out of 2782 rowers) I barely made top 20%. Here's to hoping I'll be able to climb up a little bit (if not by increasing my meters, then by more rowers joining the challenge )
Wim (attempting to get back into rowing shape).

Can I ask why you the front of the rower slightly elevated in the front? Do you row with it elevated like that?[/quote]
Howdy, much to my dismay the 'shed' has a downward slope to the front so the boards (almost) correct this. Cheers BBB

And congrats Barbara on your 2mm!!
So today is my first day back from a lovely week away - and as promised I have completed my HM kick-off. I've been feeling very guilty not contributing over the last week (but it's OK - I've eaten & drunk plenty to justify that guilt ), however will endeavour to make it up over the remaining days!
Cheers,
Dave

Lots of jockeying for position in the last two days - especially between the 2nd and 3rd ranking spots, and between number 9 and 10. While Friday is not traditionally a big numbers rowing day, there was a noticeable push for more meters by the teams. Projected finishes rose by 0.5 MM to 1 MM. For those working on a personal milestone of being in the Top Ten finishers grouping, you'll need to have greater than 70K meters. Great rowing by all !

Total meters in last 24 hrs = 374,638 m
Lots of jockeying for position in the last two days - especially between the 2nd and 3rd ranking spots, and between number 9 and 10. While Friday is not traditionally a big numbers rowing day, there was a noticeable push for more meters by the teams. Projected finishes rose by 0.5 MM to 1 MM. For those working on a personal milestone of being in the Top Ten finishers grouping, you'll need to have greater than 70K meters. Great rowing by all !

Congratulations, Sam !
