Dr. Dan - Would you accept an average of 10k every day (310k for March-entire), as opposed to 10k every day? (There will be some days when I only have a half hour to row ... sprint days!) If so, count me in on your challenge ... it'll offset all those chocolate Easter eggs.

RE: 10K a day challenge for March
I'm up for the challenge if we can do an average also -- March is getting closer to biking season! If our bike team is selected in the Ride the Rockies lottery, I will have training rides on some of the weekends. On those days, rowing (while it might be preferable to some of the "hills" out here) will have to take a back seat to the bike. And if our team isn't selected to participate, I'll still be training for Bicycle Tour of Colorado instead!

Great to see everyone excited about March Madness 10K challenge. We just may sneak into 12th place when nobody is looking or even if they are looking.
There will be five drawings but they aren't telling which five days will be used to determine who is eligible. (i.e. 10K rowed that day) Therefore, my thought was row 10K every day and be covered.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am having trouble connecting real names with User ID's. What do you all think about posting your user name with your real name so the slower members like myself will know who is posting. Might even be fun to learn why you picked that particular User ID and what it means to you.

RE: User Names and Why
Jan Stevenson here (Kona2). I chose Kona2 as a user name because my oldest golden retriever, Kona, was 2 at the time. She is now 5. We now have another golden named Kihei (key-hay) and a cat named Jesse who believes he is a retriever also.
I've been trying to remember to sign my posts with Kona2 (Jan). Another option would be to put the user name into the profile that is printed out next to photos, etc., on the team page.

March Madness
I'll be up for 10K or better for at least 24 of those 31 days So is the game plan to row extra meters in advance and not enter them until you have a missed day??? Another thought... Since this will be a 10K thing why not row a 10K ranking row March 1 and again on March 10, 17, 24, and 31 and compete against your best time once a week. Darryl B.
Re: March Madness
Well, Darryl in my way of looking at it you must enter your meters on the date you row them. If you use a PM3 or PM4 you have have no choice, it's automatic. I like you competition idea, I may try that.DuluthMoose wrote:I'll be up for 10K or better for at least 24 of those 31 days So is the game plan to row extra meters in advance and not enter them until you have a missed day??? With Darryl's compititon idea in mind my goal is not to row fast. I just finished a book titled Younger Next Year by an MD and a Lawyer. There is a male and female version. Their idea is do what you can until you can do more and slowly increase your work load. Long and slow is better than short and fast, i.e. just into the aerobic range, at least 45 minutes 5 days a week when you are able. Not very exciting but good for those of us who have worked to hard to fast on the erg in the past. This book is a great and funny read. They also have a web site that is motivational.
