I started off this week(as in last tues) @ 282lb and now (as of an hour ago) I am 275. :?

i think the reason i had not lopped much weight off at the beginning of the season is because I was building up muscle mass(i'm a hellofalot stronger than i was 4 1/2 month's ago (also i started to moderateley restrict what goes down the chute)

anyways good job all of ya and keep it up(er... down)

and is all of that weight loss bad at all? i.e. to lose that much that fast? :?

oh and my goal is to be at 240-250 by may(my 18th b-day is in may)

Depending on your starting point, it might not necessarily be that unhealthy. Not being a doctor, I believe there can be a lot of variables, especially if you are more overweight than others who are only losing a pound or two a week. If you look at the Biggest Loser program, they're working out about 2.5 - 3 hours a day fairly vigourously, and are only eating ~1000 calories a day, which I personally question the food intake but everything seems to be very nutritious. They can lose huge amounts of weight in a weeks time. While I would think that if you're eating healthy, a good caloric intake for your weight/size without workouts factored in, and you're still feeling fine (no fatigue, feeling of unwellness, etc), you should be fine for the first surge of weight loss? If you're concerned, you should check with your doctor if you haven't already, especially since I have no medical training myself!

Aiko

Looks like I am at around 2,000+ calories per day, burning about 3500 calories per week on exercise. Contrats on the erg score PB! That is really great!

But what am I supposed to call you, Eyespliced? That seems like a harsh thing to call someone - although I will have to look up spliced to see if there isn't another definition I can't work with to make the image I've currently got in my head less painful.

I used to have a cat I had rescued, named "Roadkill" -- after the initial heroic refusal to not live up to her name (she had been crushed on a highway) she was a special needs kitty who remained relatively small and kittenlike for over 10 years. So now when I see a really cute 'kittenlike' cat I think "awwww, Roadkill." And there is something wrong with that.

:)

kappy

yea, an eyesplice is a loop made by esentially braiding the bitter end of a line back into itself, hence making a loop, or eyesplice(what 3 years of sea scouting will do to a person(i.e. learning all of this stuff) i thought that eyespliced was a good name becasue its creative and well not retarded(like other names i've used in the past(not here though)

p.s. if you want you all can call me david, as that is my given name

Knowing something about ropes...that is getting awful durn close to that sailing stuff.

Thanks for the info. See I was thinking eyeballs. And splicing the way surgeons have to do it. That is very impressive.

After a week of being pretty good, I am down to 155 even. I have pretty much over-eaten today. But last weeks loss was 1.8 pounds. I am now 4 pounds down from the beginning of this effort - and 10 pounds up from January.

You would think that weight that came on quickly would just 'melt' off. But no.
