Tickers, distances...

Does someone have a good link/source for calculating distances to various places in the world? I would like to also know about the tickers that you can use to chart your progress as you make your way around. Not being a computer whiz, it needs to be fairly simple....

I can find lots of weight loss / pregnancy tickers but nothing that you could use to chart distance progress.

I use http://tickerfactory.com to chart distance. It's pretty easy.
