Hey, Kristine thanks for the new team room and the link to it. It's also great to be back on the rower after two weeks off. I headed off to the Mardi Gras in New Orleans on Feb. 1, returned to Tampa on Feb. 6 with the flu and haven't been able to exercise until today. Consequently, missed the whole Valentine row, but I'm ready for the March madness. Thanks again Kristine for holding everything together.

Total meters rowed by the team = 116,429 !!
Lisa J Million Meter Watch = 62041 m to go towards her first million!
Top 3 for the day:
Barb G. 15470 m
Dan C 14034
Lisa J 14030
Well done by all the team members!
I love reading stats like this, and they can be very motivating! Just curious, are you keeping a spreadsheet or is there a way to drill down on the C2 website to see daily numbers for the lunar mission crew, e.g. Barb 15470, Dan 14034, etc.? I'm guessing you don't have everyone reciprocated as your training partner.

Chris, (thanks for commenting on the stats!)

In between official challenges, the only way that I could think of to get the stats was to put them in a spreadsheet (goes pretty quickly once it is built). Nathaniel shared his program, but it needs a database that is only available during the competitive challenges to run. I must confess that I definitely had stats envy of Timbuk2 - so I built the spreadsheet. I have time to input the data right now, so thought I would see whether the team liked getting the info. I'm also providing Timbuk2 with stats for the interim challenge time - especially since they shared their program with us !

It's good to be able to cheer teammates on - especially when an individual shares a goal that is important to them - or really puts out a supreme effort. Things like noticing that Rae S has put in an extra 1000 meters today (what a trooper!).

I forgot to mention in the earlier post that as of this morning, the Luna-Tics were 83,417 m from taking #13 place.

I was also wondering how you were coming up with those stats. It's great! And I really appreciate the time you have (no doubt) put into this. Thanks.

Kona2,

Thanks so much for the great team spirit and take initiative attitude you have. You are a real team leader. I love that you are able to post the stats, and that you are active both in our Team Room and in the Timbuktu Team Room. I tried to get the stats sheet to work, but couldn't get it to run on my computer, and was not computer-literate enough to make it work, so I am glad you could do it.

I think it is a valuable addition to the Team Room, so I hope you can keep it up for us. If life ever gets too busy, and you need to have someone else take over the task, just ask. I'm sure there would be someone on the team who could/would do it (so don't let it become a burden to you!) The stats and encouragement you post are FANTASTIC!

Sadly, I have not been able to row since the JVC ended. All that snow shoveling really messed up my shoulder. On top of that, we are still waiting for the replacement seat rollers, and two days after ordering the rollers the monitor cable decided to quit working, so the meters are not logging correctly. Maybe God is telling me to rest a little longer, and give my shoulder a chance to heal up. Keith and I are both itching to get back on the rower!

Hey, on the shirt topic, does Cafepress allow you to simply post a piece of artwork, and let the people ordering then select the artwork, and choose the articles they want to put it on? If so, then that would probably be the best option.

And to all you "vacationers", welcome back. Glad to have you back at the oar.

Give it a good rest and chance to heal, for sure. I gave myself an overuse injury (erging, of course), and couldn't row at all from early August until Thanksgiving. Now I have to take it slow and only row at about 50% of what I was doing. I knew better...

Hope you're feeling better soon,

Lynn

Zazzle.com is another great site to get custom tees and stuff.I have received tees from the them.Concept2 has used them in the past. You can set up an account of sorts and add designs etc.I think another virtual team has a site in their site..and updates it regularly.Cafe Press is great too.My Luna-Tic tee and mug have been shipped and will be here next week.

We had our "rainy season" in January and the sun's been shining all February, so you can actually see the weeds growing. I was doing yard work for a few hours yesterday, and can hardly bend today ... at the moment the C2 looks like a machine of torture! :(

... and thx to Dan B (Sub-7) for his hints on making animated .gif images!

13th Place

Post by Toothdoc » February 17th, 2008, 10:46 pm

In case no one noticed we moved into 13th place by 39k this afternoon.
Way to go Luns, keep pullin'.

Is anybody up for 10k everyday during March Madness besides me? I know Chris T. is, hope there are more. That will put me well into the 5 Million Meter Club. I need the new T-shirt my 1 Mil shirt is about worn out.
