30 minutes 7750 m is a good SB for me and it was prety hard in a gym on a model C.

I will not reach my 2004 seasons PB easilly so I will be happy with more SB!

I haven't really raced in about 2 years, but this fall I have been picking up the meters and starting to push hard again. So I decided it was time to take a crack at the 10k first. This was an online race on RP with 4 other rowers; two who stayed just in front of me (thanks). Previous PB: 38:30.6, new PB: 38:10.5.

I went skiing twice this week, including yesterday, so I was sore from that, and so I paced this conservatively for the first 5k. Not sure when or if I will do another 10k this season, but going sub38 is certainly within the range now.

Well done, Michael!
If you keep knocking off 20 secs each time, you'll soon be sub 37!

Michael,

Nice PR there! Only thing is with those 5K and 10K PB's, that 7:01 2K is looking a little soft

Newbie baseline times

Post by RadioFlyer » December 11th, 2007, 11:35 pm

I'm new to erging, only 30k on my model D as of yesterday but I have one time I am pleased with.

500m in 1:29.0, 31 spm ave., 496 watts generated

Other times that I need to work at are:

2000m in 7:33.3
4000m in 16:01.6
10k in 41:57.4

I have recently attempted intervals. Here is my 3x4x500m set from a few days ago.

I have a long way to go!

Great row, Joe. Going sub40 for the 10k is a big mile stone.

Great posts and interesting reading for someone new to the sport! And some of the times are absolutely frightening.

New 2k PB: 6:43.3. Kind of happy, but I was hoping for sub 40. Wasn't feeling it with ~800 left. Hopefully next time.

Well done!
Now you will have to have a go on your 6k, and very specially on your 500m

And I will have to have a go on my 2k one of these days...

The 500m I havent updated because I never really have the motivation to push for just a minute and a half. I have done 2min @ 1:35, but one of these days I will do a 500m all out. 6k's are not my strength, but hopefully next one I'll break 21:40 at least.

Great race, Capn. What was your PB before and what were you expecting today?
