Model C Question

Post by Haupia » January 31st, 2008, 2:32 am

Newbie here so I hope you all understand what I'm trying to explain.

I have a Model C rower that I bought back in March 1999 so I guess that model has the PM1 as a monitor. I'll finally pass the 100,000 meter mark when I hop on it tonight. If I join a team for those online challenges how can I make my meters count towards the combined meters of everyone elses? Do I have to purchase a newer monitor to retrofit and get my meters uploaded on my computer? Otherwise, there'd be no way to prove that I rowed so many meters.

I don't mind starting all over since I'm just getting back into it. I just don't want to accumulate 1,000,000 meters and not be able to prove that I did it.

Also, I'm so happy there's a forum that'll keep me rowing now. There was no site to keep me motivated back in 1999 so I became disinterested in rowing. Thank goodness I kept it around. It still works wonderfully after 10 years since it first came out.

Hope someone can help me.

First check which monitor you have:
http://www.concept2.com/us/support/monitors

Then create a online log at:
http://www.concept2.com/sranking03/log.asp

You don't need a PM3 or PM4 to use that log. You can manually log metres from your PM1 or PM2.

Then find a team:

Some teams have open membership (Free Spirits, Eh!, Timbuktu, Forum Flyers), some have strict entry conditions (Team Oarsome, SUB7, Taff Attack Racing), some are invitation only (Countrywide MAD).

Then update your profile:

you should have a PM2 if it is from 1999. If it has a serial port for a computer hookup, it is a PM2+.
