Unfortunately, many (most?) women have the "funhouse" filter firmly implanted in their brains, rendering any mirror completely unreliable. Better to go with an objective measurement!2whlrcr wrote:A mirror? And not one of those from the circus.

Stitches suck! Don't tear them... listen to your Doc. Although, the skin re-attaches in under 48 hours (unless you're a smoker), better safe than sorry.
I just rowed a PB 10,000m in 48:43:0. I have logged it in, we must get our team back to 8th place!!
Does anyone know of an at-home way to calculate percentage body fat? I don't have a fancy caliper or scale, but there must be a way, right?
Funny you should ask about body fat, I saw one of those scales today at Costco. Price was pretty reasonable, under $30, I think. I do wonder just how accurate they are, though.
You could always go with the "honey, do these jeans make my butt look big"? approach, but I'm guessing Sean is too smart to take that bait.

I'll have to check Costco, and read up on just how accurate the scales are. As for the butt thing, I don't want to "row my butt off", a flat butt ain't sexy... who doesn't love curves in a woman!LiteTruckRider wrote:

Moving closer every day, one good tug at a time :p
A wife is crying in front of the mirror one day... her husband walks in and says "honey, what's wrong?"
"Well, look at my breasts, they're so small... you would think at my age they would have grown"
The husband says " I know what you have to do... take some tissue paper, rub it between your breasts 2-3 times a day, you'll see!"
Wife " what? How is that going to make them bigger?"
Husband " Well, it worked for your ass ! "
HA HA HA HA HA

Gypsy, That is the best laugh I have had at work in a long time.
Ok here is one and this is in no way coming from Concept2.
A woman scanned the guests at a party and spotted an attractive man, standing alone.
She approached him. "My name is Carmen," she told him.
"That's a beautiful name," he replied. "Is it a family name?"
"No," she replied. "I gave it to myself. It reflects the things I like most -- cars and men."
"What's your name?" she asked.
He said, "Bob Titsenbeer."

C3H603: that's great! Don`t you love the feeling of beating your best time... wow. Just makes you want to do it again (but not right away... hi hi).
Greg: keep 'em coming, I love to laugh....

Speaking of 500m sprints. I just got off the phone with the crew chief from "THE"
Andretti Racing team. They were looking at our website and saw the Motocross 500m meter times(Travis P's time) and now the whole team is going to the gym for some "Testosterowing". One of the guys was looking for tips so he could kick the other guys butts. - Greg

DOH! Not that Travis guy again! We're only 4 tenths off that time and we get no respect!GREGH wrote:Speaking of 500m sprints. I just got off the phone with the crew chief from "THE"

Acyually, I think I can beat that time now but I have just been putting it off so I could row longer distances.
Oh and speaking of long distances, I e-mailed Jennifer last Monday about my marathon (looking to get one of those COVETED mugs ) but haven't gotten a reply yet. Just curious if she got my e-mail?
Also, I just wanted to congratulate everybody for putting in all the meters we have. Out of over 200 teams we're top ten! Keep it up!

Congratulate yourself for rowing all those marathons, Sean! Frankly, I think Jennifer should send you a couple of extra mugs.RadioFlyer wrote: Also, I just wanted to congratulate everybody for putting in all the meters we have. Out of over 200 teams we're top ten! Keep it up!

BTW, does anyone know what determines team ranking for the VTC? Is it the total meters rowed by a team, or the average meters per member?

Wow, 6.4 seconds sounds like a lot. Congrats, Steve! I should probably do some 500m sprints. It would probably help my longer row times.C3H6O3 wrote:Woo hoo! New personal best today in the 1x500m of 1:38.2 (-6.4 seconds). No joke
Also upped my 7-stroke average a few points to 372W (from 369W). Average watts over the 500m was 370W or 99% of my 7-stroke average.
