Hello TIMBUK2 team!

Post by roddare » January 4th, 2008, 12:29 am

Hi TIMBUK2 folks,
I'm Mike from the Bay Area in northern California. Just completed the 200K Holiday Challenge for the third year in a row and felt like pushing myself a little further to start the new year right. Couldn't ask for better company---there is a lot of experience and "meters under the oar" in our boat!
Thanks for the motivation and keep erging at a steady pace! We are off to a great start.
Take care,
Mike

"Man is a goal seeking animal. His life only has meaning if he is reaching out and striving for his goals."

We set our goals and strive to reach them..rowing helps us to do this.
Row strong!!
Great rowing spirit TIMBUK2!!!

Welcome Nathaniel to our team...our newest TIMBUK2-ian!!!

Hi all,

I'm new to the ergo, but after only a month, I'm pretty hooked on the ergo as a way to get fit for my real passion, canoeing.

This team challenge looks like a great way to encourage all its participants, with the support of others, to settle into sustainable exercise routines.

And TIMBUK2 is doing great! A big team with such a high average is very impressive.

Very well done all!

As well as padding the millionth metre mark, let's see if we can climb a couple of places in the team average standings. See:

sranking03/team/teamStandings.asp?group=team&sort=avg&re_index=34

(Sorry, won't let me post a proper link, but you might be able to copy and paste the above after the concept2.com bit in your address bar)

This is a great measure of the team's performance, where a little contribution by everyone can make a huge difference. If we all row 2000m today, we could climb as many as 5 places!

Good luck :D

Nathaniel

From boat LUNA-TICS to boat TIMBUK2

Post by Kristine Strasburger » January 4th, 2008, 9:19 pm

PJM,

Kristine, team captain of JVC team LUNA-TICS here. I just read through all the posts here, and wanted to say that you have gathered a great crew together. You did a fantastic job recruiting members. Every time I visited the forum looking for new posts about joining a team, there you were- you beat me to the post! Arrrrrg! Your enthusiasm is great, and it is evident that your team is right there with you. Way to go!

It looks like TIMBUK2 and LUNA-TICS will be neck and neck, contending for the highest meters all month long. LUNA-TICS started with only 3 members when the word was first put out to join teams. Now we are at 64 on the JVC team. I wouldn't be surprised if your team keeps on growing throughout the month because of your enthusiasm and efforts.

I just started our team forum page today, so we do not have many posts yet, but you are welcome to drop on by and say, "Hi". We wish you well in this fun race. Great job Captaining!
☆~Kristine~☆

Your a terriffic captain PJM - I love the quotes and motivators - especially the one from Dec 26 !

I Felt pretty crappy today with a really nasty head cold and took the afternoon away from the office .... but I got inspired to pull a PB on a 2,000 and followed it up with a moderate to light 10,000. With the longer workouts, times are rapidly improving.

Great to be a part of the team - I've been telling my fellow dragon boat team-mates about it (one of whom also trains on a C2) . I think that the JVC will have me ready for the Pittsburgh Sprints in Feb (after all of a month and a half of experience on the C2 by then).

Thanks all - this is great fun!

 :!: :!: :!:
