Susan, Nicholas is up for a row w/Danae, but I'm not 100% sure if we'll be home New Years day. I'll let you know once we figure things out.
It's great to see lots of familiar faces returning. Start slowly, Grams, and work back up to your old times. It sounds like you're on the right track. And I know all about putting a house on the market at the wrong time. Ours went on sale a week after 9/11. Wishing you a speedy sale.

Hello ladies.
Just thought I would throw my goals out there for the JVC. I know we did this last year and it helps to stay focused. I plan to do 5-6 days a week at least 5k a day. I will most likely do much more, but we all know life gets in the way! I will row for my health and family which will make me a better mommy. Cheers to all. Keep on rowing!

I like that idea. I find putting my resolutions in writing really helps me.
I'll put my exercise/JVTC resolutions here. I WILL row 5x a week of at least 30 minutes.
I am also interested in looking back at what I wrote last year and reflect on what worked and what did not! I'll start a new thread--Resolutions in a Row.

JVC goals
Hi all, I rowed 50,000 a week for the Holiday Challenge, so I plan to row at least 30,000/week for the JVC. I try to row 5 days/week so I may do better, but I'll pledge that amount toward the effort. Over to resolutions in a row for the rest....

Happy New Year's Eve All!
Best wishes to you and yours in 2008!
My husband is working tonight as can often be the case in the restaurant business on New Year's Eve. I shall be home at the stroke of twelve and thought that it might be great to start the new year and the JVC with a short row soon after the ball drops. Perhaps I'll even treat myself to a glass of wine afterwards.
Buona Fortuna a noi ! Good Luck to us!
Anna in NY
PS: The duck below won't be rowing with us..... ; )

That's GREAT!
We celebrate New Years at 9 PM. (We figure it is midnight somewhere in the world.) We set off fireworks, open the door to let the new year in, bang pans etc.
The neighbors have figured out what's going on after 4 years! (My daughter is almost 8 and it worked best to have an "early" new years celebration.)
Anna--do you have row pro? We could do a midnight row on-line?

When my Model E arrived in early November, I activated my Row-Pro trial and liked it very much. Unfortunately, with the upcoming holidays, I forgot to purchase the program before the trial expired. All efforts to purchase Row-Pro online since then have failed, despite the efforts of those at Row Pro to help me. (For some reason, I'm not being allowed to enter all the information necessary for purchase.)
Very confusing..... Now that Christmas is over, perhaps we can tackle this again. I've never had so much trouble trying to buy something online before!
I'll let you know if this changes...
All best,
Anna

Hang in there with the Row Pro people, it is a small operation with a very special product for a limited market. Pete is fabulous and usually quite quick to get things resolved. Send another email. Assist @ digitalrowing.com or support @ digitalrowing.com (I would use both addresses.)

Hey gang - we are now 25 strong! I know there are more Ducks out there. Come on in; the water's fine.
Remember, DAFT is separate from the Ducks. Joining DAFT is only for the JVC and doesn't remove you from the Ducks. Your meters count for both.

I plan to welcome the New Year and my resolution to pay more attention to my body in an unorthodox way. New Years Day my friend is having a Polar Bear Swim party at her lakeside home. Jump in the lake (about 50 degrees F) then sauna/hot tub!
