Holiday Challenge

Post by Cheesehead Dave » November 21st, 2007, 10:57 pm

Hello! My son (Age 12) and I will be doing the Holiday Challenge this year. This will be my 4th Holiday Challenge and my son's 1st. I am planning on doing 8K per day. My goal is to lose a little weight and get back into the daily rowing habit. I am looking forward to learning to On-Water row next spring.

Who else is doing the HC and what are your goals? :)

First of all, Happy holidays and good luck to you and your son with the challenge.

I myself have just got my inspiration for the rower again from the C2 website and seeing this challenge was perfect timing for me - to complete it will be a major achievement for me after 5 years of inactivity. I have completed 54km so far and feel totally rejuvenated if not a little sore in the backside area!

Travel is messing my meters up a bit, but I will get it over 200k no matter what :-)

Hi, my goal is just hitting the 200k!

just doing around 10k a day!

I'm now amaing for the 8MM mark, just reached the 7 MM!,

Main goal , for now, is rowing an easy 10k under 40, so a 2:00 must be an easy pace for me for the 10!

Happy Rowing and good Luck!

Hello,

I've owned my Concept2 rower for a little less than a month and am going to try to reach 100,000 meter mark for the Holiday Challenge. So far, I've 15,000.

New and Learning, but happy to be on board,

Anna

Hi All! Sounds like everyone is doing great. I am at 50,500 m today for the HC. My 12 year old is at 28,000 m for the HC. I am doing 8K per day and my son is doing 4K per day. I enjoy reading each of your posts and it is motivating to see other people striving for the same goal! :) Keep it up.

Unfortunately away from a machine until early next week, back 2 days and then out 3 more days...2nd 100K will be a bit of a stretch.

Tyn, how you coming? Happy Cheese Days!

I'm sitting at 132k finished so far. Being off the water for a week or two really makes a difference! Tabb, that FL heat sure sounds good right now!
Tyn, nice job on the 7MM! I'll be hitting 5MM at the end of the challenge.
That's all for me right now, maybe I'll be able to get back to sleep. That wind sure can be noisy! :?

After a little morning row, I am now at 98k.
I have business trips of 3+1 days and I leave for vacation 21 December in the morning. That means I must average over 10k per day.

So, lets try!

Yes, and one guy that's nearly 80 years old.
Puts me to shame! I'm only on 182k.

Cheers

Went to the gym to do some weights but warmed up with 5 k and cooled down with another 5 k so I am now at 108 and the odds start to look a little better.

It is incredibly hard for me to erg after the weights training. I can just about hold on to the handle when I pull 2.00...

Finished up my Holiday Challege today. A bit early but come Sunday I'm off on an ergless vacation for two weeks. 202,500 meters from November 25 and Dec 14. Missed a few days in there. Most sessions were steady state but a few middle distance (5, 6, & 10K) PB attempts that fell just short.

Have a nice Holiday everyone.
If you don't try, you will never know how bad you suck.

Hi-

I am having a great time with the holiday challenge. I am doing the 100,000m challenge. Things are going pretty good so far.

I am looking to join a Team for the January challenge.

Good luck with your Holiday Challenge.
