Couldn't if I wanted to. I have osteoarthritis, which is particularly bad in my right hip. My orthopedic surgeon told me I could do any kind of exercise that was comfortable. He added, "Of course, you'll never be a jogger..."

I'm so glad that rowing doesn't bother the hip. Rowing is easier than walking.

I have bad joints it’s kinda funny because I’m only 16. So I had to find a sport that would not kill my joints I picked rowing. I love it, I still have to run the 2 miles but its worth it.

I love to run outside on trails for miles and miles.

I don't like running short races or on the streets. I'm not much for track events, although I did run a 24 hour once.

I find running boring on a treadmill.
I've not tried running out of door any time in the last 30 years.

I'll stick with cycling on road and erging in the gym.

I like running sprints. Anything up to 400m. Very enjoyable form of torture. Sort of like doing hard 1Ks on the erg.

I also like stadiums and running hills. Also in keeping with the masochistic motif.

Long, flat runs suck. Long, flat runs on pavement suck even more.
Used to love running medium/long distances.
Now, mainly because I got hooked to erg, I don't run as much (only aprox. 215 km since january).
Nevertheless, we like to run some popular 10 k races with our tem mates, and if everything goes well, I'd like to run at least 1 marathon!

I like to run, if conditions are perfect. Guess I'm a fair weather runner. I've got to feel strong and upbeat before beginning (unlike rowing, which will bring me out of a funk itself). Give me a clear, warm day, no humidity, dirt roads, and I'll very happily run 5 miles at a 10-11 minute pace. It's nice for a change.

I marked "like" because I don't run all that much anymore. I used to race triathlons and was a pretty fair 10k(32:30 range) to 1/2 marathon runner.

But, here is where I Love (!) running. I travel quite a bit and the runs that I have enjoyed all around the world have been just amazing. IMHO there are few better ways to see a city then early morning covering 6 or 8 miles. This is especially true if, like me, you are there on business and time to play tourist is severly limited. In the last couple of years I have run in London, Shanghai. Hong Kong, Singapore, Zurich, Paris, Milan, Geneva, Lausanne, Prague, and man, many more. I always stay in a central area along water (lakes, rivers, etc.).

Perhaps my all time favorite run though was from the town of Rapallo to Portofino and back one fine summer morning. That one still stands out....running along the cliffs above the Ligurian sea, before the tourists came out.

So running can be pretty magical.....

Aaron

You would all love to run, especially SPRINT, if you had something important to run to or from!

Everytime I have been injured from running I am reminded what a gift it is. I think of how vulnerable one can be without the ability to run. We live in a mostly civilized society now, but imagine if we didn't. I think it is the gift you would want most.

As being someone with exercise enduced asthma, running isn't my favorite activity. Though I don't mind running in football or frisbee.

If God had meant us to run, he/she wouldn't have given us horses. Or bicycles.

Knees wrecked by rugby, compounded by a few skiing falls along the way. Me? Run? You must be joking!

I loved to run when I was younger, but now have a bad knee now from a car accident years ago. Now I couldn't run if my life depended on it....but I might do okay if I was in a row boat!
