Noise

Post by Jumpsoda » October 4th, 2007, 12:51 am

Is there much of a noise difference between the Model C and the Model D Concept II ergometers? I currently own a Model C but I have to admit that the noise gets on my nerves after awhile (it was sooo much better than my Model B though). Can anybody comment on the difference, any input appreciated ?

Having never used a mod. D or E I can't compare them with a C. However, for somewhere less then $70 you can order the Mod C silencer kit. Will take you about 60 minutes to install. After upgrading my C the only noticable noise I get is now from the fan. It nearly totally removes that buzzing chain noize.

I echo tadis. I got the silencer kit (it only took me about 30 minutes to do, but I'm pretty handy). The noice level went down significantly, and now I wished I had bought it earlier. It used to be I couldn't hear the whirr of the fan because of the grind of the chain. Now the chain noise is about 10% of what it used to be, and it all sounds much nicer (in fact, being able to hear the fan is somewhat motivating, because the pitch gives you feedback about your stroke).

D and E are much more quiet. Also the pm 3/4 s are better. If the cost is not a problem, switch.
