GO FOR IT!

Cheers,
Where did you find that? C2 doesn't list it in their news, just a March 15 to April 15 total distance thing. There was an April FM/HM item mentioned some time ago, but that seems to have gone off the radar screen.

Bob S.

Edit — I finally figured it out and checked the U.K. forum for confirmation. I see that it is that CTC thing that they run each month. I have had the impression that that there is not all that much interest in those events in the Western Hemisphere, especially since there isn't an active club scene here — not like in the U.K.

2nd Edit — I should have read the title of the thread!
Thanks Bob!

If you'd like to participate in these challenges you can join the Eh! Team for the CTC, or the Independents or probably many of the others. You can still maintain your other affiliations and help float our virtual boats.

Cheers,

I have all of my training planned around the April CTC... a 12K every weekend. 1:51, 1:50, 1:49, 1:48.5, 1:48. I don't feel very confident with those last two, but I'm happy that CTC is providing all the motivation.

You did it, Gregory, 1:47.3 pace and 42:55.3!

Congratulations. :)

Independents have two boats ready for a woman to complete them. :)

The August CTC is:

2K, 2 minutes rest, 1K, 2 minutes rest, 2K.

Enter the time for the 5K of rowing. It is pretty easy to set this up on a PM3 as a "Intervals: Variable" workout. It is much like doing a 5K, only a little faster.

As is now standard, the Independent "team" needs another woman. (Although begging for women doesn't seem to have been very effective yet...) And there is the added incentive that if you enter a time for the August CTC for the Independents, you get to vote on the September CTC.

Here is a link to the thread on the Brit forums where the Indies are voting:

The CTC for September is 10K with no rate restriction.

Maybe my previous pleas for women are having some effect... thanks; the Independents floated four boats last month. We should be able to match that this month with summer ending and the holiday challenge and racing season coming soon.

Enter a time for the team of your choice or abandon that team and enter a time for the Independents. Either way... all meters are good.

I entered a time for the 10k though not rowing much this summer.

The CTC is fun to enter and see your times there. :)

All meters are good! B)

I was hesitant to join in as I've been primarily doing rehab LSD stuff and little speed work. But it's better to participate than not, and it's good encouragement to work harder.
