FB1 and other Fat Boys CTC
FB's it has been a very long time since I have posted on the UK CTCsite. As this months challenge falls in line with my sprinting aims I have had a number of attempts at the 666m distance, are any other FB's going to row it this month?
PaulS, do you know my password for the CTC as you have put my times on previously?
My best effort to date is 1.42.7 which is 1.17.1/500m average.
FB's could take this challenge, get your butts moving

Nice to hear from you FB1.
I don not have any plans to row any 2000m races at this time, that may change though. All my focus has been on short course rowing using the erg. I have put on many kilos due to the amount of weight training I have been doing over the last 6 months, this has given me a lot of power to play with.
I now have a 500m score of 1.12.8 but aim to get close to the World Best score of 1.10.
My 666m score was done yesterday.

Smoking time! I'm wondering if I could even keep it sub 1:30 at the moment. That said, I'm game, but not until after the 23rd. heading on Holiday and wouldn't want to risk a tweaked back for that.
Do we get to use our lightest FB as a lwt? I think that would be George (FB4), or is cupcake available?

No Problem Nav, we've got the nominal FB team assembled. It's a special for the CTC...NavigationHazard wrote:Sorry guys I'm committed to Team Oarsome.
I did do a 1:25 something the other day, at a restricted stroke rate (IIRC 34)....

FB5 I used a drag of 195 for the 666m, it is the highest I can get on the machine I use. When I did the 1.12 500m I did it on a different erg which had a drag of 217. If I can get back to this erg before the end of the month I will do a 666m on it.
I don't think I will make Lwt for the FB's am weighing in at 258lbs (117Kg)
Give it hell FB's.

As someone that started erging to lose weight and resurrect a near-extinct fitness I thought I'd look in to see if this was the sort of thread for a semi-fit, half-lean, middle-age pedestrian. One peek at the paces and I see that I've stumbled upon the Olympic squad!
I've got the sort of embarrassment that you feel when you accidentally wander into the ladies' conveniences.

That's ridiculous; you must have a small nuclear-powered device on the foot-plate!
I'm off. Sorry to interrupt.
Cheers
