I push 'Ready' and 'Recall' buttons,
The word 'Split' appears on top of the 'Meters' in the display,
I start rowing....
And 'Split' goes away ??
How can I get Splits displayed during my workout ?

Re: Displaying split times on PM2 while rowing
I think what you are observing is the way it is intended, for about 6 seconds at the end of each split, the "split" icon will appear with the data for teh split just achieved, then it goes back to displaying the "avg" figure for the workout.danieldoiron wrote:I push 'Ready' and 'Recall' buttons,

I only used that feature a couple times a long time ago, but that is what I recall it doing.

Yes, the pm2 split time shows for 6s at the end of each section. Also you can recall the splits at the end of the piece. I used both of these features quite a bit. For example, I could set the sections for 100m on a 10k, then do continuous fast/slow 100's and get my time for each one, keeping track of the averages mentally. The last 20 splits were available for recall at the end.
Another way this was helpful is if you were doing 10x 1k, and during the rest interval wanted to go back and tally the previous ones, you could do this by using the arrow keys. Often I would row 40x 1:00. Then at the end of 20, reset the session which took only 5s, then the monitor would keep track of another 20 of them.
Unfortunately, the pm3 doesn't show the split times at the end of each section, though it does show the split pace during each section - within a second or so. This feature is not accurate on the pm3. Also you are not able to set sections that are less than 1/30th of the distance you are rowing.
I like the pm2 much better as you are able to do all these things with it and much more, where the pm3 doesn't have the capability to do them.

I tried it again...
I am now dressed for a 5-7 wine and cheese...and in a sweaty mess !
BUT I GOT IT !
If I set the PM2 on regular...just row...mode, splits are only shown using the time function (showing the distance accomplished for the time of a split).
If I set the PM2 on distance...lets say to row 2000m...splits will be shown using the distance function (showing time taken for the distance of your split).
Now, my smelly self must go eat some smelly cheese !!
