YouTube and row2k video contest - an update

Post by c2bill » February 7th, 2007, 1:55 pm

As many of you know, concept2 and row2k sponsored an "erg" video contest - not much in the way of rules - just hoping to have some fun. After a slow start the entries have started picking up of late - we now have over 25 videos. To view the full list click here:

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_q ... t2+contest

of note:

1. The Idiot. "Think he'll go anywhere?"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lqk96Koh2xI

2. Kevin's erg video
Artistic - love/hate relationship with the erg

Please take a moment to view some of these videos and rate them - your votes count towards selecting the winner.

We'll be announcing the winning entry at the crashb's this year - so get your vote in soon.

cheers

The Idiot is funny. I like the way the Police SUV just drove on by.

Puts new meaning into "Row Hard, Go NoWhere!"

But I double dare you to show Kevin's video on the big screen during the Crash B's!

i loved kevin's video - and the crashb gang will all know too well where he was coming from. there are new ones still coming in...

i'm still hoping for more ratings for the videos - some have only 3 or 4 ratings.

On the other hand, I've tried to watch Kevin's video twice, and haven't gotten more than half way through either time. Where did he find that god-awful soundtrack?

"The Idiot" is very well done, and I'd give an honorable mention to Tyn's goofy UFO entry.

Please rate them! we need more ratings as this is going to help select the winner. If anyone gets a chance, please cross post this on the UK forum - as some of the video entries were done in the UK.

Does the forum software allow you to post polls that allow "voters" to change their votes? (Another forum I frequent has that capability, but uses SMF software instead of phpbb.) If so, start a thread and show a link for each "entry"...and allow votes, and then permit people to change their votes if they like a newer entry better.

Just a suggestion...

Bill ---

I know this is a WICKED dumb question, but how do we rate the videos? Can you post instructions, or a link to instructions? Thanks.

When you click any video, such as this one, below and to the left there are 5 stars and above them it says "rate this video".

I think you need to be signed in to youtube to rate them.

Bill,

I'm puzzled. The voting doesn't start until 2/15 according to the rules on the Row2K website.

citroen - the 'official' review and rating process will of course have to wait until all the videos are in - however using the YouTube user rating system is helpful now to know which are the popular ones.

I'm shocked at how few views and rating there are of niall's wonderful 'passion' video - i really enjoyed watching this one:
