Since I don't post very often, I didn't feel bad that my avatar didn't make the list.

But the other day I did notice that the kittie is balancing on something narrower that her butt, which somehow seems significant to this forum.

I had a lot of trouble getting it under 10kb and the resultant picture seems to be smaller than many of the others. What is the secret for scaling down photos to avatar size?

I wasn't able to do it with PhotoShop — even an image that was invisible on the screen was far over 10kb. I ended up doing a screen shot of a reduced Preview image on the monitor. That was the only thing that worked. It is still over 9kb, even though it is very small in the messages. I was going to ask you about this before it added it to my profile, but then I came up with the screen shot solution to the problem — such as it is.

If you've got photoshop with imageready, it.s very easy All you need to do is to create 3 or 4 different images and load them into imageready, then scale them down!

This little animation was made with only 3 frames, but was scaled down for avatar use!!

Good Luck!!

You can get a free program, Microsoft GIF Animator, to create animated gifs here:

I just downloaded it and it works on my PC (using XP)
