Ha! Now that's funny!p-fitz wrote:It's on like Donkey Kong!becz wrote:And I'm more than happy to compare numbers with you. My PB as a 37 year old lighweight is 6:29. I'll be racing at CRASH-B's. See you there.

Why didn't I get an answer to my question regarding the lead that I was being offered. Not much chance of me being a 37 (7 years late for that) lwt (27 years late for that). So what is it Becz, anything that you promised at all? Nice time btw, good job! How old are you now?

Hmmm, I don't know Paul, you're kind of an unknown. I don't know if I'm willing to give you more than 5 seconds, just to be safe.PaulS wrote:Ha! I'm thinking the wink means your kidding, but just to be clear, I'm 37.PaulS wrote:How old are you now?
And again, no hard feelings. I'm going to lay off the 10mps thing, for my own sake as much as anything.

Safe? Probably really safe as I haven't been training much, but it's in the range of my 2003 Ergomania result, and a buddy in the Netherlands already is laying down a slightly tougher challenge... Only kind of kidding, there weren't any 37 year olds with that time in the Rankings, but not everyone ranks.becz wrote:Hmmm, I don't know Paul, you're kind of an unknown. Still some hard feelings over the "constant" plugging bit, I think you must multiply the instances locally, or I say it without even knowing, because it had been a long time since I had mentioned anything at all regarding my training plans or principles, for the very reason to avoid being repetitive. Now if others say something about them, I can't really help that, can I? No worries though, I'll get over it. Roy did row a 6:34.7 on the Thursday prior to BIRC, since he could not attend the race due to work issues, maybe you didn't know that, but it's not exactly questionable. You say he's a natural, but I don't recruit the athletes I work with, they come to me, they have also worked with others, but I really can't elaborate on the details of what happened or why they wanted a change, because it simply doesn't matter, we begin and progress from wherever they happen to be. And it is a bit sad that you think poorly of me for being what I consider consistent enough to not want to claim achievements under false pretense, and take the time and trouble for verification (It's always nice to finally know for a fact rather than just taking the estimates from C2 and experience, especially when some seem to imply that it was all BS from the start. I don't BS about personal accomplishments. If it turned out the other way around I would have reported that too, believe it or not.) . Aren't you proud of what you accomplished at your peak? Or maybe you are still on the way there, which is good also. After my injury, I have to deal with the fact that I will never be able to approach a very high level of performance again, but I'm quite happy to just be taking rowing strokes again, especially in a boat which is far more fun than the Erg.
Well that went too damn long, probably get me kicked off for being belligerent or something.

No. Not poorly. I concede that as a low blow. Sorry.PaulS wrote:And it is a bit sad that you think poorly of me for being what I consider consistent enough ...
On my way to a second peak, I like to think.PaulS wrote:Aren't you proud of what you accomplished at your peak? Or maybe you are still on the way there, which is good also.
We do apparently have to careful now, but I think we're within the limits.PaulS wrote:Well that went too damn long, probably get me kicked off for being belligerent or something.

Now that is a sentiment I can get in complete agreement with! I'm just hoping that it didn't already happen and I've got to go for the third peak just yet.becz wrote:On my way to a second peak, I like to think.PaulS wrote:Aren't you proud of what you accomplished at your peak?
