We've done it!
My 10 year old son has completed the Kid's Challenge! After this he allowed me to complete my 200K.
Cheers to all,
Kirk

Have to admit it, can't do it . Have to split 10,5 and then 3k with some 5 minutes rest between, but finally complete challenge . The pace feels fine for the distance but my set in the office is a little boring. That's the reason I don't do this long rows very often and tend to limit my workouts to 30 minutes pieces. Well, Happpy Hollidays and a better New Year to all.

184,000m after 30.3K this morning (27.5K + 2K warmup, 800m cool down). Longest row ever. Set out todo a 2:01 pace, average was 2:00.9.
If I can get on the machine this weekend I'll make 200K, but I may row on the water instead.
27.5K piece
5500m splits:
2:01.8 22
2:01.7 22
2:00.7 24
1:58.9 25 (3000m @ ~2:00 + 2500m @ ~ 1:57.7)
DF = 114
A little higer stroke rating then I hoped for.
I'm going for a marathon @ 2:00. So I probably need to figure out how to eat and drink something on the erg. Had a little water and lost 6 seconds. This was done before breakfast, with only a glass of water and a bannana, but fuel was no problem

Made it with just a tad to spare. 203,836m. I had choice of 3x13'AN or 4x3'TR. Generally I prefer the long stuff, but I knew that the TR with a decent WU and CD (15' each) would be more than enough to make it. I had not done any TRs yet, so I decided that it was about time I did. The total distance for the 4 pieces was less that 3k, but the the WU and CD each contributed well over 3k. My cheating, i.e. doing junk meters not on the regular schedule, contributed about 15k (7 days each of doing 21' wakeups instead of 10'), so even if I had opted for the AN session today, it would not have been enough without that padding. There were also a few WUs and CDs that were longer than necessary, but I didn't keep track of them.
Last year I had no problem getting over 300k for the HC, but I decided that I was better off sticking with 3 days a week instead of the 5-6 that I was doing last year.

Completely unmotivated this year. No goal beyond getting the pin. I'm at 190,903 so it's going to happen, probably on X-mas eve as I doubt I'll have the chance to row tomorrow.
I've adopted a new little dog who doesn't understand erging at all. She stands with her nose on my lap while I'm rowing and looks up at me with her soulful brown eyes. I may have to take the machine off the slides.
