Holiday Challenge - are you going for it
Bad news on the model B, John. Off for a whole week, ouch! Maybe you could do a machine locate and work out at a local club a few times this week to maintain your momentum. Not as good as being at home, but at least you will keep some meters coming in for the challenge, and not loose too much fitness.

Holiday Challenge
Being a brand spankin' newbie, I'm up to 31,796 with 23 days to go. I feel pretty confident that I'll meet the 100k challenge!
My model E arrived on Nov 16th and I have almost 50,000 meters rowed.

Hi Dot,
How do you like your new model E?
Pam,
Thanks for the ideas.
I spent my rowing time this morning cleaning up the model B and taking some pictures.
Also I rowed a few strokes and it seemed okay. I'm going to try and row a bit each morning
and see if it acts up again or goes completely bonkers hehe.
In the meantime I'm still running and have a recumbent cycle that I'm riding for 10 minutes or so.

My first Holiday Challenge
I'm new to erging and am using a Model C. Started the HC on Thanksgiving Day and am currently up to 68,000 meters. So far, I'm enjoying it a lot. I think there's lots of opportunity for improvement on my pace, but I'll work on that after the HC is over. For now, I'm just focusing on getting to 200,000 meters.
I am really impressed with my Model C and the C2 online community so far.

21,656 metres for the holiday challenge. Slow and steady I guess for me, but I'd only done 7k metres total before Thanksgiving rolled around so I am a real newbie! I can now break 4k in a session so its a big increase from my starting 2500. Aiming for 7500 tomorrow total in a morning and afternoon session. Good luck to everyone doing the 200k this year and I'll see the other 100k rowers at the finish on the 24th heh.

As the model B is all cleaned, I've decided to not row on it any more until the bearings are replaced to test and then sell it. Sadly, then it will be leaving.
In the meantime the new one should arrive and be ready for the rest of my rowing.
I'm looking forward to it's arrival by next Friday.

14,361 in 60 today, thus completing my watching of the entire 11+ hours of the extended LOTR DVD's (unbelieveably good, BTW). At 103,966. I think 300K is doable. Most of these meters have been done at a rather mellow pace, which I have been enjoying, actually. I had been training hard through October for kayak racing, and it feels rather nice not to worry about paces, intervals, heartrate, anything except the lovely feel of the drive.

Getting started
I did approx 100K last year and want to repeat.
I've done 15K so far, but only have until the 13th of Dec (travelling afterwards). I'm a slow half marathoner, so 100k is achievable.
I'm also looking for a training partner to help with motivation. When i'm focused i row 4-6 days a week, anywhere from 5k to a half marathon depending on time. Anyone interested?
