PM2+ not responding

My PM2+ does not respond when I start rowing. The monitor is on, all areas are visible. I ran the monitor test (OK + Display buttons) the test was fine. I replaced the batteries anyway. I took apart the fan housing and cleaned everything including the sensor and the little bump-outs on the back of the flywheel. I inspected the wire from the sensor to the monitor, no abrasions cracks etc. My chain is oiled the shock cord seems fine.

My C2 Model C was purchased in Oct 2000 and has a little over 10 million meters.

Did I miss checking anything that can cause this?

Does the Sensor wear out? Might I need to replace it?

Make sure the plug is pushed all the way into the back of the monitor.
