After doing a little research I found that Cherry has an oem version (ST-1044U) which they state is 3121 compatible. As it was priced at EURO 25.75 or $29.33 including shipping in Germany, I have ordered one to see if it will work. I will post later and tell you if it does.

Definately not a bad price being offered. Please make sure you take any warranty issues to that vendor should you have problems and not to Concept2...

Pretty much every bit of information that is on the LogCard is dumped to the Spreadsheet, or at least anything that you would be interested in. No, it doesn't store DragFactor, total calories, etc. If you can see it in your review of your workouts on the PM3, you can get it in the spreadsheet.

The LogCard format is not published to prevent people from writing software that ends up breaking the LogCard, and to prevent "gaming" of the Verification codes.

Ver 2.9.9 beta is on the FTP site, and will be available for Beta download on the web site soon. The Mac version is also available for download, it is listed as 2.9.10 only due to installer changes.

I'm sure we'll have at least one more go-around before it gets released, please send comments directly to rowing @ concept2 .com or to me directly via email.

FYI, I will be gone (traveling to the Euro Open in Copenhagen) Dec 1-7, I may not be able to respond during that time. If you send email to rowing @ concept2 .com they can forward any critical error reports to our developers.

-- Scott
Of course Scott understood, they have to give me a 2 year warranty, it's EU law. I should receive it this week.

QUOTE(c2scott @ Nov 28 2005, 11:10 AM)

-- Scott

For those of you who had issues getting to the FTP site to download the Mac Beta, it is now available on our web site:

PM3 LogCard Utility Home Page

There is a new version of the PC LogCard utility there as well.

-- Scott

Hi Scott. I received and installed the OEM Cherry 1044U Omnikey 3121 Compatible. I have installed the Log Card Utility 2.9.9 Beta.

The Cherry Setup installs exactly the same drivers that C2 installs, the C2 Setup asks if it should overwrite these drivers. I told it to do so. When I start the Log Card Utility, it searches for the PM3, but does not look for a Card Reader and does not find the Log Card. If I go to the Omnikey diagnostic (I assume installed by the C2 software??) in the Control Panel, the diagnostic finds the reader and the inserted card and identifies it as a 12C card, etc. It immediately sees when I remove or insert the Log Card as well.

By the way the Card Reader is attached via a hub and not directly.

Then it's just the device drivers for the PM3 (or stand-alone card reader) that will be needed to get Linux support.

As soon as an RPM or tarball is published I'll be the first to try it (with my Omnikey reader) on SuSE 9.3. I've never liked Deadrat Linux.

I think I found a bug in the beta logcard util.

I rowed 2*30' 5:00r (with a little bit of active rest metres).

The data from the logcard util doesn't add up - I've lost/gained a metre somewhere.

,Dougie,12/07/2005,08:01,v30:00/5:00r...2,1:00:00.,14610,27,,,,,,02:03.2,944,187
,Dougie,12/07/2005,08:01,v30:00/5:00r...2,,,,,30:00.0,7269,26,0,02:03.8,934,184
,Dougie,12/07/2005,08:01,v30:00/5:00r...2,,,,,,,,,,,,05:00.0,175,0
,Dougie,12/07/2005,08:01,v30:00/5:00r...2,,,,,30:00.0,7340,28,0,02:02.6,953,190
,Dougie,12/07/2005,08:01,v30:00/5:00r...2,,,,,,,,,,,,05:00.0,24,0

7269+7340=14609

I can send a copy of my *.LCB if you need that.

It looks to me like it's rounding error, rather than a LogCard Utility bug. I'm not sure it's incorrect though, if you follow the general rule of always rounding as the last operation.

Rounding up or down at 0.5, then:
7269.3 + 7340.3 = 14609.6

Mike

I'd suggest that you check the logcard entry on your PM3. Generally, if you add the individual splits or intervals on the PM3 logcard it won't match the summary line for the entire workout. This is due to rounding errors in the individual split/interval display values stored on the logacard.

I don't think the logcard utility is doing any different "rounding" to the values stored on the logcard (at least not intentionally). Could you check for me and post your findings here?

Thanks,

Mark
