PM4 screen remains blank...

Post by jboers » November 4th, 2006, 11:06 pm

Does anyone have any suggestions I could try for my rower? I used my rower tonight when watching a movie, and when I went to look at the information when I was done, the screen was blank. I tried pushing the Menu button, which didn't bring up the screen. Neither did plugging it into my computer, reseating the cord from the flywheel, reseating the rechargeable battery, or rowing. I can't think of anything else to try. I've checked the forums, searched the internet, looked through the FAQs, and reread the instruction manuals. I've called the toll free number, but they aren't open until Monday. I just got my rower and I'm completely addicted, so I don't know what to do. :( Waiting will be hard, so I'm hoping there is something else I can try so I don't feel helpless.

Have you checked whether the battery is charged? I'd leave the charger connected for a couple of hours then test the rower again.

I think when the monitor is connected to a computer (as long as the computer is on) it is receiving power, so I don't think the problem would be drained batteries. But it's worth a try.

Here is what seems like pertinent information from the PM4 manual:

1. If the PM malfunctions or does not “wake up,” try one of the following:
• Insert a paper clip (PM3) or pen/pencil tip (PM4) into the reset hole on the back and press lightly.
• Remove the batteries for 30 minutes and insert two new alkaline D-Cell (LR20) batteries.

Good luck.

It worked! Hurray! Thank-you so much! Now I can feed the addiction and keep track of it. :D :D :D
