Around the World Row!
If its the same IP I'm on then its the Interactive Weight Loss Programme.
Its linked from the UK site here
I'm just starting week 5 with the goal of losing 12Kg and have lost 6Kg already.
You can tailor it to how much you want to lose, over what period and with how many workouts a week.
Seems to be working well for me.

Fantastic job on the weight lose Dave (and especially for your really fast CTC row!) Erging is a great way to help lose weight. Soon after I started rowing I took off 18 lbs. It's amazing how the weight can creep on without you really knowing it. I always thought that I'd never have to worry about weight, with a thin build and a fairly fast metabolism. (Wrong there )Luckily with rowing, there is less to worry about. I'm doing one increasingly long row each week to build up for a marathon attempt. The next day is fun hopping on the scale .

Most of my weight loss occured before I started on the IWLP. I started rowing in April at 272lb and am now 234lb. I'm not sure how low I'll go but I don't think it will be below 220lb, maybe even 225lb. I've got to remember the Canadian winter is coming and keep some reserves!
I felt I needed more direction than just going down to the basement and deciding then how far I would go. So the IP looked like it would kill both birds by giving me a defined, structured workout and still continue the weight loss. It added a bit of variety too with differing interval lengths. It also upped the number of meters I was doing (intervals help) and I made it to a million meters one day short of 6 months. In September I rowed almost 240,000 meters which was more than 70,000 more than the previous month.
The last CTC row was a late night, post work, all out push. I don't think I'll be going any faster this month! Less than 2 seconds behind Brian but I'm sure he has way more left in the tank!

Hi guys. Well I just took basically 3 months off and am feeling the pain of getting back on the rowing machine. After all the gains last spring and at least half the summer ... gone.... Ouch! Anyway, with the halloween and US thanksgiving challenge coming up, hopefully be back logging some miles on our cross world tour. Great to see a lot of people kept at it over the summer! David - great C2CTC scores. You've made some great gains over the summer.
Cheers - Troy

Welcome back Troy.Hi guys. Well I just took basically 3 months off and am feeling the pain of getting back on the rowing machine.
Also a hearty welcome to Alain Piche of Ottawa, Ontario to the Eh!Team.
Our average daily meters have been picking up over the past month and we are missing a few of our high distance rowers, so if everyone resurfaces, we should be around the world before we know it.
I hope all are well.
Keep on rowin', eh.

Two boats in the water.
My intent was to get to LWT this month and do the CTC as a LWT, but I kept weighing in just a little high. Since it was so late in the month, I decided today was the day to do the CTC, but I weighed in at 165 1/2 lbs. this morning. So I figured I'd give up on the LWT thing and save that for next month. But as I was sipping my morning coffee, I looked at the CTC board and saw that if I rowed as a LWT I would complete a boat, but if I rowed as a HWT, I would start a new boat. So I decided to postpone breakfast and wait until my weight dipped under 165. Not my best effort, but I'm quite pleased to now be in LWT territory and having the extra bonus of completing a boat.
Okay, time for breakfast. That candy cane at the South Pole is beginning to look mighty good.

Hi Spike
You need to register on the Concept2 website. In your profile you can choose your affiliation. We're way down near the bottom of the scroll list. Once you do that all your meters that you log online will be automatically added to our Around the World row and team standings.

Welcome Tyler, from Harvard, Massachusettes, USA to the Eh!Team.
I am sorry if I have missed any other new rowers. I keep to an eye on it and I may have missed one or two of you. Regardless, thanks for joining the Eh!Team.
Keep on rowin', eh.
